In your eyes Google must be the worst employer in the planet. You just don't get it. Companies that treat employees well get more productivity out of the workers.

My daughter works for an upstart company where vacation time is up to each employee with no limit. But old guys cannot understand the mindset of the younger generation.

My view is similar to Pedro's, and the discussion just devolves into PCALMike's view (which IMO is a cop out) re IQ/risk taking/etc., so there isn't really any point to meandering further down that path.
