And for sure France will surpass UK in GDP since they are less than 2% apart right now.
If the UK effectively disintegrates as a nation, the way that you and other rabid anti-Brexiteers so eagerly keep insisting is going to happen, then you will be right. In fact, under those circumstances, the UK will fall out of the top 10 probably within five years.

But this is a deranged fever dream you all are having. What is more likely is that the UK either holds on to its #5 spot, or is passed only by India - which has literally 20 times the population of the UK - and should have passed the UK a very long time ago. France is not going to pass the UK in these rankings. You are in error.

If there is a hard Brexit, will people have to move back home?
There are about 1 million Brits in the EU and 3 million EU citizens in Britain.
I assume those are rather different kinds of people in terms of jobs (I take it lots of Brits in the EU are retirees, right?), so such migrations could have quite an impact on the economy.

Most likely it has happened already.

Boris Johnson has been cleaning house and appointing new ministry heads this afternoon. Here is a link to a a story about that, for anyone who is interested:

One appointment that should be relevant for us here in the near future. Liz Truss has been appointed to replace Liam Fox as the International Trade Secretary. I believe she will be the one in charge of negotiating the free trade agreement with the US on behalf of the Brits, while Robert Lighthizer, our US Trade Representative, will handle the duties for the US.

Some of them actually resigned by themselves as they did not want to be part of that government.

Sure. In any case, today is moving day. The UK is going to have almost an entirely new top leadership group by the end of the day today.

They need it. May's cabinet was mostly useless.

Well, after Johnson's PMQs this morning, it's clear that May's deal with the EU IS NOT his starting point. And he's ready to go out with no deal.

Said by Johnson...

The "terms of the current EU withdrawal agreement are unacceptable to this parliament and to this country".

He's doing what May should have done, close to a year ago.
