This means legalized bribery in politics on a massive scale. How else can the top 0.1% manage to rule over the 99.9%? In a democratic system, thats not possible. Only in an oligarchic system is it possible. Legalized bribery is at the CORE of this rigged system and huge numbers of puppets, lobbyists and special interests are needed in DC to ensure that it stays that way.

On the other hand, we have straight shooters like Bernie Sanders who for more than 30 years have actually fought all the special interests and big money donors that rig the economy against ordinary Americans. We had a choice and the choice was the ruling billionaire class. Now we must pay the consequences.
It's good that somebody gets it.

What about the bankers, who got $700 billion of welfare from taxpayers? Do you think they will be better or worse off from a Trump presidency?

Maybe when he actually takes the office of the Presidency.....

I'd say draining the swamp would be a monumental task, best done in incremental steps over time. Probably not possible for someone who has been president elect for exactly 13 days.

Really OP? So you think that all of the insiders Trump bashed in his campaign using the term drain the swamp are not going to act like little children and follow daddy?

The insiders Trump is adding to his administration are those Trump considers transitional insiders. He's a smart businessman who knows he can't just waltz into Washington, hire nothing but business people, and expect to have an effective and efficient government.

As these left sided negative posts continue to stream, makes me ashamed I have always and will still lean left.

It's not a matter of learning. People will change their minds when the changes start affecting them directly.

Imagine him doing that every time he travels. Maybe he can tell his president to make sure his "law and order" agenda does not apply to real Americans like him.

Trump's gonna be the same way. Except he might get there sooner.
It's a little soon to be gazing into your crystal ball, isn't it?

You might want to clean it off, though, if you insist on playing with it.

What a mixed metaphor. Look into how real snowflakes are formed, and what they consist of. Hint: It ain't swamp water.

So - why not drop all the insulting terms and focus on the real issues at hand? Intelligent, creative and productive ideas can be found among patriotic Americans of all political persuasions, and surely now is the time for everyone to come together to promote the common good. I'm no Pollyanna, and I think healthy debate is a great thing - but the sort of dissension which is tearing our country apart at present cannot be good for any of us in the long run, and is a waste of energy.

So - let's try to stop all the finger pointing and name calling, agree to disagree - civilly - and focus on what we share. That's the love for our country, and the desire to make it better.

I will never be a Trump supporter, but I support the office of the President and wish whoever holds it well. I pray for wisdom, compassion, and good judgment for both the President and the President-elect and those who advise and assist them, as I do for all elected officials. That said, I can still criticize where I feel criticism is deserved, and work for change where I see the need for change.

Getting corrupt lobbyists and those elected officials who connive with them out of Washington - and elsewhere - is certainly a worthy goal. But it's not necessary and in fact, is very counter-productive to insult others who share this goal but who did not support your presidential candidate.

Time to move on, time to find common ground, time for civility, or we will all destroy ourselves and our country as we know ourselves and our country.
