is not a written contract.......basically since Trump/Pence won their word is their bond....they offer tax incentives and make sure Carrier keeps their government contracts.........that's how a President must negotiate from the position of strength.

Obama could have done this and with other manufacturing companies that left during his 8 years and he didn't. Obama ran against NAFTA in 2007 and when he got to office he embraced NAFTA and wants to expand it with TPP.

I really don''t understand the Democrat plans.........they want to keep these bad trade deals , raise taxes and raise regulations and keep our open borders and expect wages for the middle class to go up?

A bit more complex than that. You can also blame Bush 1 and a GOP Congress as well.

I posted the headline.

During a June 1st PBS town hall event, Obama responded to a Carrier employee who complained about the fact that jobs were “leaving Indianapolis”.

Prison Planet.com » Video: 6 Months Before Carrier Deal, Obama Mocked Trump, Said He Wouldn’t Save Manufacturing Jobs

How many do you want and really, you are still unable to understand that stuff like this is why Trump won? The pertinent part is not the guys job but Obama's dismissive attitude.

My guess is it was also the assurance of reduction of regulations that was the pot sweetener here as well. To my understanding that was a big point of contention when Pence got them to agree to keep 400 jobs back in the spring.

Where was Vermin Supreme this year? Probably a MSM conspiracy, I didn't see any election coverage for him at all!

We can see where this is headed -- Trump's going to hand out corporate welfare like candy and the taxpayers will be left holding the bag. No surprise Trump likes corporate welfare, he's make a living off it, and rarely pays taxes himself.

Trump promised to lower the corporate tax rates as part of his campaign. That is not welfare. Businesses should not be paying ANY tax. People pay taxes.

To a degree for sure. Although, as I pointed out, Mike Pence has been working on a deal for a long time.

We are supposed to be living in a free enterprise economy.

If we do, why is the government involved in paying off companies to hire people?

Rant all you want about the cause or whose fault it was. The bottom line is, we are no different than the other systems deemed evil, like socialism, communism or whatever ism is on the chit list today.
