Trump and his crew have less than 24 hours. The House Intelligence Committe, led by Republican Devin Nunues, has formally requested that Trump and the White House hand over any evidence they on alleged wire taps by tomorrow.
Trump went way too far this time. He impulsively pushed the bottom on a political fireball. The magnitude of this kind of accusation is stunning. That Trump MEANT to say what he did is evident from his reference to Nixon and Watergate.
If there's no proof ... we can only hope that Trump learns. Far better the public humiliation of a slap on the wrist from Congress (or whatever it is they can do) than Trump continuing to hit other buttons over the next four years.
Far worse stuff could happen if Trump remains this impulsive and this careless.

Clock is ticking, Mr Trump.
I'm genuinely curious how he's going to handle this. Basically everyone agrees, including a large number of Obama critics, that the allegations are baseless. Trump supporters don't because too many of them lack the capacity to think, and while that may get him elected, once he's in office there are rules. Lying about your predecessor doing something highly illegal is usually not a good idea. Clinton was impeached for lying about getting his knob slobbed... for Trump's sake I hope he's not under any oath when talking about this. For America's sake, I hope to God he is.
I agree wholeheartedly with McCain on this. Trump either has to poop or get off the pot. If you don't have the evidence, then publicly retract these accusations. Yes, you're gonna lose face for having to do so, but it's a lesson learned for shooting off your mouth without knowing what you're talking about.
And if he doesn't retract the statement, Obama's attorneys should threaten him with a lawsuit.
Funny how old Johnny boy isn't demanding claims of Trump/Russian collusion be substantiated or retracted.
