Yah, I think that's Three Wolves' point. If people collapse and cave in after one emailed threat, however credible, it becomes the new normal and emboldens those to shoot higher next time.

Can you imagine if it was republicans instead of democrats creating such anarchy and fascism in this country?
There would be nonstop media coverage and threats of the national guard to protect democrats.
Not one D leader has spoken out about any of this --- Bernie and Bill Maher are the only ones.
How disgusting to be a democrat these days.....

Thank GOD we didn't back down from the redcoats when they threatened violence.

Stand up and fight against it now, or it will be much worse later on.
100% agree with the bolded

What a bunch of weasily cowards. I'm talking about those who refuse to march because of some vague threats.

It's not up to people who have absolutely nothing to do with something to speak out on it. This argument goes back to Kerry demanding Bush speak out against the Swiftboaters. Bush had no obligation to do that. Their beef was with Kerry and went back decades.

People need to quit trying to find people guilty by some association no matter how thin.

name them. the organizers shut it down. no one 'refused to march'

"James Buchal, chairman of the Multnomah County Republican Party, said in a statement that his group wants the parade to continue."

I suppose I should have said, those who refuse to have the event.

On Tuesday, the business association buckled, announcing it would cancel the parade altogether.

Bunch of cowards.

I can only agree with this, as written.

On the other side of the coin, other people (not you) also need to stop defending things that they perceive are initiated by their "side."

Basically, we need more critical thinking and less tribalism.
