Yes, the OC, San Diego County and Northern CA can be quite conservative. Remember, CA used to be solidly red and major conservative Republican bastion. Somewhere in the 80s it changed.
That would be as though Texas turned blue in the next two, three decades and became a symbol for liberal progressivism.
"Antifascists"?? These radicalized Democrats are trying to intimidate people into not speaking their mind, by making threats, destroying things, rioting etc. That is what fascists do. "Anti-fascists" is not what these thugs are.
There is definitely a level of tolerance. The police are told to stand down and give the protesters space. That's fine when they're peaceful, but when you have these masked idiots coming you can't do that. A heavy police presence and the knowledge that they won't allow this type of stuff would protect the truly peaceful protesters as much as the ones they're protesting against.
Now Dallas did have a very peaceful BLM protest that went off without a hitch until the crowds mostly cleared and that guy started shooting at the police. And even then, those guys protected the remaining protesters and ran towards the gunshots.
I like Houston's mounted police. If you ever stand by a bunch of them, you feel pretty safe. No one in their right mind would start mayham when they're stationed around the perimeter.
I could see mayhem in Austin but then again the theory is that where there is off the wall liberalism, there will be a tolerance for mayhem by anarchist protesters. Houston and Dallas are both Democratic cities but I wouldn't call them liberal per se, much less progressive.

I've been brigaded by milo/Trump supporters, along with threats that eventually forced me out of groups totally unrelated to politics. At this point I am sick of people calling out the left like they are the only ones doing this nonsense.
