Oh, yeah, because gun lovers want them and have that right.
People like you are exactly why 2nd amendment supporters have absolutely ZERO desire or incentive to 'compromise' on gun control. You're totally irrational and ignorant about the subject but sure you have a solution.

Laws are laws, don't break them unless you are willing to take the punishment.

Of course he is not going to get 21 years.

It is estimated that there are more than 6M newly minted felons in CA now... much to the glee of the entire legal system that minted them.
Under New York law, possessing an "ammunition feeding device" capable of holding more than 10 rounds is a felony carrying a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.

Apparently, he wasn't following the law, and he took his chances and lost.

Hopefully you feel the same way about our immigration laws.
I agree with you. Veteran status doesn't change the fact that laws were broken, likely knowingly. He may not have known the penalty. Then again a lot of speeders get nabbed and they didn't know what the fines would be before hand either.
I'm a gun owner and I'll say it here and now. It pays to obey the laws. That marginal fun that the high capacity magazine might deliver isn't worth what this guy is facing now.

Sadly, we've been a fascist nation for many years now, totally in love with telling others what they can and can't do by making laws on top of laws on top of existing laws ad nauseam.

None of that makes the law just nor logical.

Does this make everyone in New York safer?

What moonbat barked out that law?

What liberal lunacy.

It takes only one bullet to kill a person so this hicap magazine law is the height of liberal stupidity.

The meaning of "LAW" is a written definition of common sense. Laws like this are not common sense.

Maybe we just let everyone decide what is "common sense", we can do away with laws and just let everyone do their own thing.
