The President's own words....so we'll see if he is lying

As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.

Let's wait and see what happens now?
So you think sharing classified information to the Russians is perfectly okey-dokey as long as you are Trump?

Have you any understanding the ramifications of such a blunder?

Not only does the optics and timing of this action warrant serious attention, the mere fact that the president may have seriously damaged our intelligence communities ability to work with our VERY MUCH NEEDED real partners around the globe is enough to seriously consider whether he has violated his OATH.

And the commander in chief basically says "So what? I can do whatever I want, nyah-nyah.."

Wow.

Had this been a democrat- I am sure the chants would have been something along the lines' "Lock Him UP! Lock Him UP!!"

The President of the USA can declassify any information at anytime, even at the drop of a dime, by just telling someone the truth. It is immediately declassified, by President orders.

A shame that a empty soulless ghoul can reveal state secrets to an enemy nation so that he can brag how about big his penis is compared to others.

The real harm comes when agents die in intel ops due to what BLOTUS bragged to Russians.

Time for a call for reparations from any tRump voter to pay for the damage their action on nov 8 is costing the nation...but on the other and...WHAT ABOUT HILLARYS EMAIL SERVER?....

The support for Trump is beyond comprehension.

In the end, you're going to be on the wrong side of history, but then again, you're too dumb to know anything about history to begin with.
Trump supporters are basically the average German in the 1930s who didn't see anything wrong with what was happening because Hitler had promised to Make Germany Great Again. They are fully compromised human beings.

Former officials? Sally Yates, Clapper...maybe Susan Rice?

Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. How does anyone know how "special" this information is. Oh, WaPo printed it. A newspaper determined to take Trump down.

Libs, a lot of us Trump supporters look at this as just more hysterical bs from the MSM. Let's face it, as President this is Trump's call to make, not anonymous sources determined to delegitimize Trump.
So, when someone tells you something in confidence it's your decision whether to pass it along?

Sounds like a great way to lose the trust of anyone who tells you something.

1. Trump violates the trust of an ally intelligence source to brag to the same Russians that Michael Flynn and others are in trouble with, giving up highly classified information. This occurs within 24 hours of firing FBI director James Comey for investigating Trump and his campaign on Russian collusion.
2. The Washington Post reports the intelligence breach, making sure to put in the article that no specific sources were mentioned, and that the president didn't do anything illegal just by giving out the information.
3. The IC and media goes into a frenzy because, though not illegal, the release of such information is a clear violation of trust between the source and the US government, which was not authorized to release the intelligence given to them. The breach represents an unprecedented action by a sitting president, one that threatens to undermine the US' entire global intelligence network and endanger the nation and every American life at home and abroad.
4. Trump supporters claim the story is "fake news" and that the Wapo's sources are "anonymous" and false (they aren't), and many argue that the president has the authority to give out any information he wants- which isn't even the base problem and something the Wapo article already addressed.
5. McMaster gives a half-***** non-denial denial by denying something the article didn't even claim happened.
6. Trump admits the story is true.
7. Trump supporters talk about Hillary Clinton and continue to say this is fake news, anyway, thereby sealing their reputation as traitors themselves more concerned with Trump's reputation than they are the safety and national security of their own nation and everyone in it.

That about cover it?
Yep, that is about the size of it. Nice summary.

He did say the story that came out was not true... He was there.
To cover his ass! McMasters is one of many leaks.(Trump on the rampage - the gloves are off)
Preibus & McMasters are on their way out, with Spicer going full beta, to keep his job.

To all the people still making this point- IT DOES NOT MATTER. The question of a president's legal right to declassify information is NOT the point of contention. You guys are engaging in a straw man that has been continuously debunked, even by the original Washington Post story.
