It just depends on what field, engineers in many fields can make more money in middle america especially when you factor in cost of living. Petroleum engineers have higher starting salaries than software engineers in silicon valley. Places like kansas and texas also have a ton of jobs in the aerospace industry.

Half the people in San Francisco rent and there are more dog owners than parents with children in the city, if you are starting a family, cities are not usually where you want to be, it is why you see a huge white collar suburban population

Yeah but why don't west coasters know any of this? That means they're in a bubble doesn't it? I don't get why we know this stuff but they don't, that's very strange to me. Cost of living makes a huuugeee difference.

Yes, in places like Wichita, Overland Park, etc. Not in clover city or other small rural towns. People from the coasts do take those jobs in urban areas like olathe (garmin hq) or overland park (b&v hq, sprint hq)...but don't act like overland park, KS or olathe, KS are "rust-belt" or "rural" cities when they are wealthy metros of KCK. Come on now.

Even in middle america, there is a rural - urban divide. You're trying to argue that somehow clover city and wichita are the same. that is absurd. Plenty of coastal types move to johnson county, wyondatte county, KCK, etc as there are great jobs there. But those aren't rural areas...they're metros of KCK. It's not southern miami county

Possibly the most ignorant post on here this week.

They know about it. Perhaps people like city life or value other things. I'd rather live among smart educated people than live in rural america...and I mean real rural america, not overland park, KS

"Both sides are the same" fallacy. Trump and the Pubs want to slash damn programs, kick 23 million people off their health insurance policies, and hand out enormous tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy. The Democrats would never advocate from such policies.
The ACA forced every American to purchase a product from private corporations that provide zero healthcare but are only middlemen.

White mediocrity always gets a pass. Always. Just look at what we currently have in the White House.
