What is most to blame for male high school students being about twice as likely to get suspended as female high school students?

At my school, a teacher brought up the stats of how black students were more likely to get suspended nationwide than white students and used it as a civil rights issue. However, I noticed that of all races, males were about twice as likely to get suspended as females - no matter the race. Why is this? Is this not also a civil rights issue if the black versus white is a civil rights issue?

Can't say without the stats of who cuts more, who is more disrespectful, who gets in more fights, who brings weapons or other contraband to school, etc.

You didn't give an option to give the real answer, which is some combination of all of the above.

I said what is "most" responsible - unless you think the options are exactly equal you should be fine.

The problem is that for one student A maybe a bigger influence, while another it might be the third and so on. Overall it is going to be statistically impossible to draw a generality that holds any sort of meaning. I get that in P&OC we like to make baseless assertions but this one is particularly baseless. No one here is qualified to determine or even offer an informed opinion on such an obviously quantitative question as the one in the OP.

I think it's discrimination. Girls cut classes all the time yet don't get suspended nearly as much. All they have to do is say a certain phrase and they get excused.

Males are judged more harshly than females even if both commit the same actions.

I raised boys and I did circles around them -- I was a baddie when young- nothing horrible just not sweet norm in a dress with pig tails --- so thing is, girls are sneaky and they plan and plot their misdeeds. Boys just stupid and need to show their bravado-- they get high fives for kicking a$$-- manhood validation--
thus all in the open, they get caught. Now brawls on media becoming a big thing- but most gals do not want their noses broken - so they find other ways....

Obvious case of sexism.
