No, the big question is whether or not they will totally repeal Obama care and then we will see who is laughing?
McConnell has already declared that plan dead, too. How much more will it take before people realize that the plan all along has been to try to make the other side look bad, not to push any real legislation?
Who in their right mind would want to visit such misery on others?
Party before country people such as the poster you are responding to. They will revel in the misery of others. And that particular poster is on Medicare, so what does she care?
The problem is, it's not entertaining for those of us who rely on the ACA for our health insurance.
The GOP voted more than 60 times to repeal the ACA when there was no chance of it ever happening. Why don't they just dust off one of those bills and push it through? It got through easily before. The answer, of course, is that no sane Republican would ever vote for those sham pieces of legislation if they had to actually stand behind them.
The party did nothing but showboat for six years, and they have absolutely nothing to offer now.
This is the most inept political party I've ever seen.
Not much could be said positively for a party that pushed race and every other kind of bigoted madness the minute they had to face a black man in the seat as President. They took their Oath to attack anything he said or did.
They attacked the American People.. when they set out their initial attacks against ACA, blocking the parts that would have patched up the trouble areas, because they thought they could force the program to fail. They've spent all these years, lobbying Insurance Companies with every kind of fake promise, to get them to raise their premium or pull out of the exchanges.
No one can devote that much time to doing evil and create anything good from it. Every Republican senator and representative ran on one slogan "I'll Oppose Obama"... all those white constituents heard was, "block the black man"...
Now truth and reality hits the surface, and it is that same black man, who's ACA plan was and is of honest regard and honest care about , for and of the American People. Now, people see but some just can't being themselves to say so.
Easy fix would have been... to Mandate Insurance Companies to Participate and Allow All insurance companies to do business in all 50 States. Then the Competition would be balanced and the cost would go down. Then ... the public will get truth in billing and service rates. Because when all those companies are in one market, the truth has to come out, about the over billing by the Hospitals and Medical system, and how the Insurance Companies do not pay the rate that Hospitals bill, to settle claims.
We'd likely find out the Cost of Medical services would go down by 2/3 rds if not more...
An 5 minute Ultra Sound would not be $1500... it likely would cost at most $250 and doctors would go out and buy 10 or 20 machines, so they could perform more test and make more money.. But as long as they can charge crazy rates, why buy multiple machines, when one is making a fortune.
I'd like to see some wealthy people invest their money to build massive Testing Facilities, that have 10-20 or more machines, for MRI and ETC and then the cost of these test and even the Cancer machines would go down dramatically... and the health of people would generally increase.
Poor people and working poor who want to become doctors, could be supported by HUD and they have a contract to work in the Major Facilities for XX yrs, at a good income rate of pay... the people would do it and they would have far more honor and honesty in the profession.
We need to get people like we have in Congress Out, and simply make all the anti-american people minded politicians exit the platform. When we do that... and put in Term Limits and Local, State, and Federal Funded campaigns, and mandate that Lobbyist cannot meet with the candidate or elected official, if one is a lobbying, they have to meet with a Lobbyist Panel. and that panel can arrange an assisted visit with a politician. ... but the lobbyist can't talk along directly to the elected person.
I mean the GOP bitched and complained about Obama Care since day 1, yet they can't even replace the damn thing after multiple attempts? What the hell were they doing all those years when they were complaining? They couldn't come up with a single viable and palatable plan during that whole time? Now that they've shown utter incompetence when it comes to crafting healthcare law, their option of last resort in order to save face is to simply vote on the repeal of Obama Care and have nothing to replace it. What a catastrophe of epic proportions for the GOP. At total egg on their face. This is the greatest piece entertainment of the year.
Well, the problem is at its core, the ACA is a Republican/Heritage Foundation plan. It's based on RomneyCare. But since it got dubbed Obamacare, Republicans had to put all their effort into destroying it so he didn't get credit, but all their ideas were already built into the ACA, so they have nothing else to replace it with.
The big question is, with healthcare failing yet AGAIN, will McConnell and Trump move onto other major issues facing our country?! Can they let healthcare go for not and revisit sometime later? Or will they continue to push their crappy healthcare plan and fail over and over again?
Doesn't matter. Their other major agendas like Tax Reform are as difficult, if not worse than healthcare. You'll never get Republicans agreeing on tax reform.
Have we got to the part where Ryan and McConnell perform ritual suicide in the Rotunda? Waiting.
