He wasn't their boy when he won the primary, and they still don't like him. I suspect many are angry that a middle of the road Republican isn't in the White House now.
To the OP: I think very few, very few, politicians "understand" health care. Obama didn't. Hillary didn't. Sanders didn't. In fact, I'll go further and suggest that most Americans don't understand what level of health care could realistically be provided under single payer or at an affordable cost.
Reading the fine print and getting into details just aren't in his skill set. He's a fire and brimstone stump speech maker whose good at personal insults and demeaning others. Beyond that he's a total bust as President and a threat to our economy and national security.
ObamaCareNot did not give us affordable health care, it was about health insurance. It barely decreased the number of insured that still ended up filing medical bankruptcy. The health insurance companies thought this would prop them up, since as jobs left the country, those workers that lost their jobs no longer could afford health insurance. Sadly, it didn't pan out because people didn't buy into the lies being told by Obama and other Democrats getting money stuffed in their pockets by the health insurance lobbyists.
ObamaCareNot was NOT about affordable health care. It is so easy to see.

I don't buy it at all. Their failure to enact a law makes them pretty terrible, too. There are better ways to "get back at Trump" than to sabotage your own efforts.

It is complicated, and few people understand it that well. The key is bringing in people that understand it and recognize ways to make it better. One big issue is that no one wants to address HC cost, and that is one of the biggest obstacles to affordable HC.
That's a damned good question, one I almost created a separate thread on. The GOP has the House, the Senate and the Presidency and they are freaking useless. Anyone have a clue? One hint...we have an out of control media pushing an outrageous lie and no one is stepping up to fight back. The GOP is a bunch of useless cowards.
Evidently neither did Obama or the Dems because they passed a very bad law that made a mess of things.
Alls we need to do is reapply what works else where. We can modify it to better meet our needs.
To be frank I don't understand US healthcare, and I'm not afraid to say it.
Our government spends more per capita than all western democracies, US citizens then spend billions more on health insurance. We have pharmaceuticals costing 1000% what they do in other western nations, $20 charges in ER'S for Tylenol, and the least health coverage of all comparable systems, without materially better outcomes.
Can someone help me understand, because just as a numbers guy I'm not seeing where the money goes. Doesn't matter if it's pre-ACA, the ACA, or this bill.
I don't even understand why it's so 'complicated'
What the hell is so complicated? You feel the need to see a Doc, you go, he runs some tests, comes to a conclusion and if needed determines a treatment program or refers you (repeat until treatment, which may be nothing). The doc expects payment, can be from the government, insurance, the patient, or a leprechauns pot if gold. Why is that complicated? Is there something I'm not seeing?
