Not surprising - it seems anyone not in line with black players could potentially be labeled a racist...maybe even targeted.

This has been a non-issue for the most part. Ignored by most people. I never claimed he brought the issue about - I was pointing out that Trump is very good at pouring fuel onto fires and dividing things significantly further. He does it with so many issues. He is very good at exploiting this and firing up his base.

He certainly brought attention to this matter. More attention has been paid to this issue in the last two days than the entire time that Kap was doing his silent protest thing over the last few years.

Eh...citation needed. I think the majority of citizens either don't care or think this is overblown. Most people are not abandoning the NFL over this issue.

Now that Trump has escalated it and turned it into something else than what it was before (it's more Trump vs. the NFL now...), who knows where things will go. But I don't see this changing the dominance that football has on the American zeitgeist or its culture. We love football. We are addicted to watching it. We're not going to stop over this.

Maybe some people will stop following the sport - but it's not going to be some enormous collapse as proclaimed by some people.

Most people don't give a crap, frankly. Not everything in life is political.

I don't really understand your comment.
This is nothing to do with the anthem or the flag. It has to do with equal rights. When our founders wrote the constitution, they was no anthem or flag.

It's fast becoming that way though.

How would Kap have fared doing this stunt in Chad, Central African Republic or Zimbabwe?

What equal rights do black people not have?

Politically I think this works out well for Trump. It's an emotional issue and most of the people are on his side despite what ESPN or political commentators would lead one to believe. Dem moderates can't really speak out because it would further divide a party that's already distanced itself from the people.

I wonder if he asked the team why they were doing it?

Then he could have filled the rest of us in on it.
