The left talks about diversity, and multi culturalism, yet encourages them to remain in separate societies and segregated within the U.S. Assimilation, and patriotism are demonized today. To become "American" is now a bad word.

Where did the idea that a society made up roughly equally of fiver different races would be better than a county of only one race?

I'm not trying to stir the pot here, just trying to learn. Thanks!
Switzerland and Belgium are highly multi-cultural and multi-ethnic. Switzerland is one of the most stable countries in the world. By contrast, Belgium is pretty unstable relative to other Western European countries.

South Africa is extremely multi-cultural, unequal, multi-ethnic, and multi-racial, but it has powered through every crisis and has maintained some level of a liberal character. Hence the term, "Pax Pretoriana".

Canada is also as diverse as the United States, but the Québécois have caused a significant amount of instability over the years. Much more so than the United States has ever experienced since the Civil War.

The Soviet Union was multi-ethnic and unstable. China is multi-ethnic, but is very stable due to the marginalization of minorities like the Tibetans.

I can go through many more, but if your hunch is that more diverse societies are more unstable, you are correct. However, there are examples of stable modern countries with high levels of diversity.

America only succeeded because imigrants left their identity with their previous country and became loyal American citizens. Now the liberals are emphasizing identity politics, which breeds a tribal identity, and pits one group against others. That will tear apart the country, if it continues.

Following colonial times, the United States continued to take in high-quality immigrants like European Jews, British and Irish immigrants, Arab Christians, Italians, Greeks, Japanese, and Chinese among others. The OECD did a study that suggested that the United States benefited enormously from its openness to immigrants. However, that study also noted that the United States could have benefited even more had it been more selective about who it did take in. The United States needs an immigration system that works for Americans, not the Democratic Party or middle-income countries looking to export their poor.

The thracians took in Greek. Other ethnic groups in Rome did not take in Roman and Greek culture even though such ethnic groups were Roman citizens. I noticed that the Germans races did not Romanize until after the fall of Rome hundreds of years later. Franks romanized after the reign of Charlemagne. Or the visigoths started to Romanize after the Muslims pushed them to the mountains in northern Spain where Latin speaking celts lived.

The countries that made up much of the Roman empire were largely forced to be part, with Roman troops to keep them in line. Comparing that aspect of the Roman empire to America is silliness to the extreme.

Hah, that's a laugh. The biggest practioner of identity politics today is Donald Trump who time and time again goes to stoke resentment of his base by fearmongering about immigrants, black athletes taking a knee in sports events, women who speak up against powerful men.

Puh-leeze.

All Trump is saying is that we have a very large security risk by allowing illegal aliens to come here. It is also a huge financial drain on the U.S. How is that Identity Politics?

The globalists want opened borders to take away our identity as Americans... they do not want any assimilation to become American.. Globalists want diversity and all opened borders. They welcome it.

I wrote this over a year ago on this thread. It still pertains to today.

Wait till multi-culturalism goes after football, baseball , all that has been American culture. They already started with the Red Skins... just to put their toe in the water to see the reaction.
The globalists are trying very hard to destroy our history, our identity as a nation.. they want us to be just the world.. no borders, no countries, all on the same playing ground..

Our middle class has to be brought down in order for globalist markets to be able to equal the worlds pay grade.

Trump has put a big wrench into their world view .. as a one world governing body. One world leader above all nations..

Our history, our patriotism, our Constitution does not fit the narrative. Neither does religion. The way to progress is to go through the democratic party, our media takes care of the brainwashing of the masses, and it was going along just fine till the people recognized what was going on. And Trump came along.

The global powers are mad as hell. It did not go as they expected. Now they are figuring out a way to banish our history, go after our Founding Fathers, Shred our Constitution, Take away our guns. It is coming.. we will be all pawns to a one world governing body when our identity and our borders are gone.
