But I’m impressed the alt right have managed to convince some Germans who’s worst experience with migrants was knowing someone who claimed a migrant looked her in the eye. That in the cities migrants are killing Germans and that Germans are living in fear of their lives. I wonder the amount of cognitive dissonance one must have to go to Berlin go to a train station with be most migrants in a neighborhood with the most migrant shelters and then come back and say all of Berlin looks like that.

The Afd is not conservative, it is populist. They were actually expelled from the German conservative party and formed a party of their own. They oppose gay marriage, the EU and immigration (they want to shoot people crossing the border), so they do share some views with US conservatives.
