Tillerson gave DC elites and the media a good spanking (Putin, school)

I did not expect, of course, for Mr. Tillerson to admit to calling the President a moron, even if he did.
I can believe that Mr. Tillerson has not considered resigning.
Of course, events will tell. Mr. Trump may, or may not, believe the report. Indeed, given Mr. Trump's notorious 'thin skin', he will probably keep dwelling on it, with rather predictable results.
The press conference struck me as awkward and forced. Pretty clear that the President gave him his marching orders to go out and sing the praises of Trump and the administration or else. Was shocked to actually see him. He almost never speaks to the media.
He's something of a phantom Secretary of State. There are reports that State employees almost never see him and that he rarely speaks to anyone. It appears that a lot of the traditional duties of statesmanship are handled in the White House with Kushner.
Tillerson was pi$$ed off! He called out mainstream media and their bosses, the DC elites, for their constant attempts at dividing and undermining this administration. DC is like high school. Can I get into the cool crowd? Why wasn't I invited to the party last night? Did you hear what Jason called the teacher? Who hasn't called their boss a moron (and worse) but chose to stay on the job? Even people who worked for Obama. It's called venting.
This administration has people who have actually been successful doing something in the real world, not just taking bribes, glad-handing and figuring out ways not to do their jobs, like typical politicians. I laughed when I heard Tillerson say he wasn't "from this place" and wouldn't tolerate DC pettiness.
The good thing about press conferences is the opportunity to list this administration's accomplishments which are never reported outside of conservative and alternative media. This is why more people question mainstream media which has been destroying what little credibility they had.
He never refuted the claim that he called Trump a moron, though. He knows.

Awkward and forced, I should say.
"He did not deny the report on NBC News on Wednesday morning that he had derided Trump as a “moron” in a meeting of White House national security officials and members of the cabinet. Instead, he shrugged off the report as “petty nonsense”, and issued a stream of praise for the president."
