Landslides are pretty hard to achieve when the electorate is strongly polarized, and has no intention of considering the opposite party. As far as young people voting, it would likely help Democrats if they could overhaul their congressional leadership. They have too many long term, elderly, stale politicians from ultra-partisan locations in top positions (exhibit 1 being Nancy Pelosi) who have little appeal for young voters.

The less visibility Hillary Clinton holds as well, the better for the party. Maybe passing on the torch to some younger standard bearer who can avoid talking down to working class people outside the big cities would help. Trump's act could start getting stale eventually and his "drain the swamp" rhetoric will be harder to reconcile with the reality of his presidential term.
