It's legal for a US company to close it's factories in the USA and move to China and Mexico, are you ok with that, sure seems like it, because it's legal.

And do you really believe they will extreme vet each temporary visa holder.

This is a terrible security risk.
US nationals lare likely greater risks than a foreign worker.

That Trump prefers to spend weekends at several of his resorts instead of the WH, does indeed present unprecidented exposures and background checking for the Federal Government.

That’s a 9 percent increase from last year, when Mar-a-Lago hired 64 workers under the H-2B visa program.

The new visas will go to 20 foreign cooks, 35 waiters and 15 maids and housekeepers for the 2017-18 tourist season, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. They’ll earn hourly wages from $10.33 (for the cleaners) to $13.34 (for the cooks). The temporary visas allow them to work from October 2017 to the end of May 2018.

hallmark of Trump’s presidential campaign and a stated push of his administration is that U.S. companies should hire American workers. He has criticized Ford Motor Company, Carrier Corp. and others for moving manufacturing jobs to Mexico. Mar-a-Lago was applying for the foreign worker visas this July when the president launched “Made in America Week.”

Trump said at the time, “We believe jobs must be offered to American workers first. Does that make sense?”

Trump's Mar-a-Lago Granted Visas For 70 Foreign Workers

Can you say hypocrite?
When a business, which is in business to make money, hires people who can get the job done at a lower rate than those at a higher rate, they stay in business. I know, who would have thought that right? So if the higher paid workers are hired, which hurts the bottom line, then that business could go bankrupt and many Americans loose jobs.

Trump, like any business person, said he can't afford to have his companies in America as well as higher without the visas and still make the money he wants to make. Not many in business stay in business just to break even.

We do need less visas, although in some cases, which this one could be, when it's seasonal, good help is harder to find.
The idea is to make the business climate better. Lower the cost of doing business in America and the jobs will come back. It's basic economics.

It's done because of government raising the cost to do business here. Are you okay with that?

the irony
" Can't do" is not the same as won't do, given the wage being offered for split shift work that precludes the worker from holding down multiple jobs. How many US workers can afford a car at the effective wage of $3 and change an hour?

I live in an area that is all about tourists and we have many J1 visa people that come in the Summer to work in the service hospitality industries. We just don't have enough people to fill the temporary jobs.
Most of these people are students in their home countries that come to America for the experience and to bank some money. Others are professional waiters/ chefs etc... that come here for the season then go back to the Caribbean.

MaraLago is a high end resort that is also a business and the people that manage it must feel that they need to reach out further for qualified employees.

Are you suggesting that we need "affirmative action" for the local to Maralago workers?

It is not a reflection on the President it is just business.
Hospitality is an industry that lacks qualified Americans?
