How much life, liberty and pursuit of happiness did those 17 kids at Parkland get to enjoy? Or their parents? Their lives will never ever be the same.
It is my observation that tyrannical governments only last so long before they inevitably fail due to their own ineptitude. If I "turn the other cheek" and don't resist I stand a chance at living long enough to see the Trump Nazi regime topple from their own incompetence. If I try to fight back when their army comes at me there's a good chance I'll get killed and never live to see the Trump Nazi regime fall.

Kim regime has lasted 60 years now. Who knows how much longer that will be.
And what do you do about the millions of weapons already in the hands of American citizens that fit the above description?
If we took the approach of stricter vetting for those weapons, then people want to keep them could get the equivalent of a CCW with vetting by local law enforcement, if not then they can sell them to someone who is qualified or turn them in for destruction.
No. No ban, just an semi-automatic weapon ban. We ban automatics, why not semis?
Might as well ban revolvers too, they fire one round every pull of the trigger. Two 7 shot 686's 14 rounds, some speed loaders and practice and the rate of fire will be up there.
And many other tyrannical regimes lasted much shorter. Some just last longer than others. But Communist North Korea will inevitably fail as well.
