Has anybody asked the code talkers if they took offense at this remark?
No, you say? Nobody has asked. Hmmm.
Did any of the code talkers protest this usage at the time?
No, you say? That's what I thought.
Sounds like no harm, no foul.
That being said...Trump should at least get the moniker right as originally delivered by Jonah Goldberg.
It's Fauxcahontas.
I agree with you.
And I wouldn't care if he never used her actual name, and only called her Fauxcahontas or Liawatha...but not Pocahontas. However, I do think both monikers have more 'oompf per use' when used SPARINGLY.
I also think that he only harmed himself by making reference to her at this particular event.
He honored Code Talkers in front of a portrait of Andrew Jackson.
I know, right? Looks like zero time, thoughts, and effort went into this event, they just threw something together. I felt so bad for these distinguished men, they deserve better than that.
Warren made her bed, now she can LIE in it. She deserves the "racist" (Oh my God!) "slur". Good for Trump to honor these brave men, and again remind us of a Senator using THEIR heritage for PERSONAL GAIN.
This was not about her, and nobody here needs reminding of anything. There is a time and place for everything, and this was absolutely not the right time.
