Actually a good point, since I believe most if not all the terrorists in the 9/11 attacks came from Saudi Arabia. But you know we are way to close with the Saudis to insult them with a ban like this.
The ban was supposed to be based on a recommendation by Homeland, make the case that all these countries were a threat. This had nothing to do with objectivity, it was Trump ginning up the base and preying on fear, it will accomplish nothing but I think he will win.
As to your first point, maybe. This could be a whole bunch of fuss over nothing, which is often the case with anything that comes out of Washington. Still, it gives people a little peace of mind to know that 6 countries that are known to be havens for terrorists have had their ability to send their people to the US temporarily hindered.
Does nothing for me. It doesn't take much to appease most people.

Responding to your second response, this was your original post that I was responding too:
This was obviously how they were going to rule. Those countries should put a ban on American's in return. pknopp~
Nowhere in this post did you argue that he had the legal right to do this. You may have said this in a later post somewhere down the line, but not in the post I responded too. You did say he could do it in this post, but not the one I responded too which, subsequently, you were responding too with this post. Now I'm confused and I need an aspirin.
Ditto on your third response. See statement above.
O.K. but I've long said he had the legal right to do it.

Which means it's all politics. Something politicians do, not just Trump but to pretend this does anything is nothing but politics also.
This is about the ban on travel to the US nothing else, how many Iranian terror attacks on the US?
You are exactly right. This is about the travel ban. And the travel ban is aimed at certain countries which are considered to be havens for terrorists and/or sponsor terrorism. I don't recall anyone saying the travel ban was aimed at these countries because they had recently attacked US soil. The travel ban addresses the risk of an attack perpetrated by travelers from these countries. However, you should also keep in mind that an attack on Americans, anywhere in the world, is an attack on our country. We don't have to be hit here at home to be attacked. So here is a link to a brief history of Iranian attacks on our country.
