No wonder the Trumpists are cheering so loudly about this. They've had so little that has gone their way, over the past 15 months. And it may be one of the last things they will have to celebrate, so they're making the most out of it. And they seem not to care that Saudi Arabia, a major source of terrorists and funding for their activities, is not included in the travel ban. The net effect of the ban will be minimal, but it will be one more bad mark against Trump and his supporters, for their racial, cultural and religious bigotry.

I think you may be the one with wishful thinking here. There are always going to be activist judges in the lower courts. It is expected that they will rule against Trumps policies, regardless of whether or not they have the law on their side.

The only court that really matters is the Supreme Court, so this gives people hope that they will rule based on the law instead of on their feelings.

I think the travel ban is useless, BUT this is a good indication that no matter what kind of games the courts are playing with DACA now, it will eventually be killed.

Right. The only way you keep people from coming here in that instance is to remove the reason they come here.

"They've had so little that has gone their way, over the past 15 months."

If you would get your head out of the sand for a while, you would see otherwise!

Trump identified the Muslims, just like he does to blacks and Mexicans.

Identity politics at its worst.

Absolutely false. The vast majority of federal cases never make it to the Supreme Court. Like tens or hundreds of thousands of cases for every one the Supreme Court hears. In those cases, the district and appellate courts are the authority, and not the Supreme Court. So to say the Supreme Court is the only court that matters is a ridiculous and wrong.

The next president may really care about terrorism and ban travel to/from Saudi Arabia. Nothing the oilgarchy can do to stop it.
