The elephant in the room here is that in a gutted, personal service-centered economy, too many of those low-paying, low-autonomy "jobs" will be intended for the front row at Wrestle-mania, the readers of the National Dipstick, and the dead weight relieving themselves in the streets of Los Angeles. And unfortunately, the point-and-grunt crowd has enough brain cells among them to recognize it. That increases the pressure for tariffs, border walls, and the other things that made the Twentieth Century the bloodiest in history. Regrettably, I can offer no answer to this. Perhaps Mr. PCAL has an answer (modeled, no doubt, along the stagnant European societies so many of our "progressives" venerate), but I suspect this this will merely kill more incentive, and among those of us who could otherwise bring a little more to the table.
I'll be waiting for a serious response -- and I'm prepared to wait for a long time.
No question about it ... the progressive marxist socialist transition taking place for the past several decades has transformed America from the #1 producing and lending nation, to a debtor nation, whose economy devolved into selling each other cheeseburgers, while putting the tab on a Visa card. Sold out, robbed blind, and virtually bankrupted, all taking place without anyone really noticing, because too many spent too much time and energy searching for newer ways to become socially offended.
But, contrary to the defeatist pessimism I detect on your end, I see a day of reckoning unfolding before our very eyes, as the agenda now in motion, is beginning to turn the table. Yes sir ... in the midst of foreign invasion, disguised as illegal immigration, whose purpose was always to further fracture an already disintegrating social structure ... God, Merry Christmas, Border Wallls, and Donald Trump arrived on the scene just in the nick of time to restore common sense, and begin the long overdue repairs and course correction desperately needed. Not bigotry, just sanity. Not isolationism, just American exceptionalism.
The haters are gonna hate. That’s all they know how to do. Unfortunately, as we save ourselves from them, we save them too.
The good news is that once people are paying less, the DNC's propaganda effort will be proven to be just more of the same old liberal lies.
If the tax reform bill were as devastating as the Democrats claimed, then they would have been cheering its passage. They would not have been doing everything possible to derail it by basically threatening people like Susan Collins and Jeff Flake.
Truth is, the Democrats know that this bill is a huge WIN for the Republicans and for Trump. It will have the exact opposite effect of Obamacare. Obamacare was the gift that kept on giving to Republicans because it kept making people pay more and more for less coverage. Tax reform is the exact opposite -- it will give people real money instead of taking it from them and inflicting new costs.
The Democrats aren't dumb, they know this is a huge win that will pay dividends for the GOP. So we will have to listen to their ongoing propaganda campaign for the foreseeable future. We're all used to their never-ending lies and propaganda, so no big deal really. Whine away libs!
This tax bill will take away healthcare from millions. How is that a win for republicans.

Millions will voluntarily opt not to buy health insurance, which is what they were doing before you statists forced them to do so or pay a fine. That isn't "taking away healthcare." That is freedom, which I'm confident you don't comprehend.

I might be coming across selfish by thinking about myself. But I am very happy to see my taxes going down. I am still not sure how much. Every bit helps me to do little more for my family. We are still going to pay taxes. Politicians should think about utilizing our tax dollars to prioritize healthcare.
Honestly, I do not remember a time where my taxes went down. It is very rare phenomenon. I have experience in paying taxes in 2 countries. This is the first time I am seeing some government reducing taxes. Our home values went up like crazy. Mayor and our city politicians did empty talking about reducing our property tax rates. They did zero so far. I do not trust them to reduce property tax rates even after property values appreciated by 50%.

You do understand that doctors and hospitals don't treat them for free. Guess who pays for them.....we do. Good grief, how do you not get that. I don't want to pay for those who don't have insurance. Do you.
I think the end result for me will be a higher cost of living (housing especially), I'll draw Social Security later in life, I'll be required to spend more on healthcare, and a I'll have higher tax rate in ~15 years.
There is also likely to be higher crime as well as higher state and local taxes.
You missed out on this tax cut will accelerate climate change and terrorism.

Well to be fair, most democrats are dumb but there are a few that aren't and they know this is going to hurt them big time at the ballot box.

Isn’t that Liberals want? Higher taxes to pay for things people can’t afford like insurance. So I don’t understand what you and other liberals are complaining about.
There is no bigger instance of identity politics than the huge number of white males running things in this country. Yes, there is an identity that is favored and is in charge of just about everything: white males. It's just that it goes unquestioned; it is seen as normal, business as usual. We've grown so used to this aspect of identity politics that most of us don't bat an eyelash when we see entire committees or any other powerful group composed primarily of white males. But it's not natural.

Maybe you should move back to Africa where you will have it SOO much better.
Always with the race card no matter what the issue is.
OK Genius, since coloreds make up about 13 % of the population, how many coloreds are politicians?
I'd bet MORE then 13%.
Whites are NOT required by LAW to have voting district drawn up just so THEY WILL GUARANTEE A person of their own color elected like coloreds have.
I call that DISCRIMINATION against those white who happen to live is those districts.
The Bush tax cuts needed to be extended because of the economy, what's the excuse for this addtional tax cut. I dont see 2017 as desperate times, thji swas some great salesmanship that suddenly or compnaies could no longer compete globally.
"I dont see 2017 as desperate times"
Show anywhere it says we have to be only in "desperate times" to change outdated tax laws.
