Even at $9/hour, and a longer payout period, it's still a sound business decision.

The reliability and ease of using the equipment and the acceptance of the shopping public are likely larger factors than whether the employees are making an extra buck an hour.

We could cap minimum wage right where it is now for the next forty years and we would still have self checkout stands, and ordering kiosks all over the place.

To say this is not true is simply not being honest.
Nonsense.

The savings equation I showed you is precisely the calculations behind the scenes, and mirrors how the product is sold.

Automation got cheaper, employees more expensive, and that is why we will see a massive RIF for cashiers, across America.

I avoid stores that don't have self-service checkouts, so it's fine with me.

Wal-Mart has a long history of being a terrible company to work for no surprise here. Wal-Mart sucks as a company and so do their products. Cheap! Cheap! Cheap! crap that's poorly made.

Yeah, in many ways I missed those beautiful secretaries with gorgeous voices who answer phones. Now we have voicemail
