Parents, raise your children properly and teach your children to obey the laws and NOT to commit murder!
Why is that so damn hard?
I am so tired of people blaming others for their own problems.
Because it’s like those feminists that say parents should teach their sons not to rape. Who does that? You can’t control what other people do, but you have to prepare for the world as it is, not as you wish it to be.
I doubt parents are teaching their children to rape or murder, but some people have issues and some circumstances breed bad behavior. These are out of our control. What is in our control is better security, be it of our person or schools or what have you. Take preventive measures (self defense, common sense, etc.). And in the end, some people are still going to be raped or murdered despite that. We do not live in Utopia.
Government should let teachers and parents spank their kids like in past generations. Obviously, the parents or teachers shouldn't beat the child. Perhaps if the government allowed teachers to humiliate the student in front the class with a single board spank, then maybe kids would behave. Problem is people don't feel any shame over their crime or wrong doing. Shame and dishonor is why people don't commit these massacres in east Asia. In the United States, people don't feel shame and don't care about honor.
This is like saying we need to bring prayer back to schools. Spankings and prayer do not make people behave better. It might make some people better, but there are thousands of years of human history that prove they are not the panacea some think they are. If you think we have violence today, take a gander at history. We probably live in the least violent times in history right now, and we are more secular than ever.
Ted Bundy had a nice childhood, according to reports.
Actually, he didn’t have a nice childhood. He and his teenage mother lived with her abusive parents for the first few years of his life. What I read about his grandfather sounds like Bundy inherited his sociopathy from him. His mother lied about who his father was, and some people in their family think his own grandfather could have been his father. He was a real sicko.

Sounds so easy as a parent to think that. But your kids have a life outside of the home, which includes their social circle and that thing called the internet. Peer pressure, curiosity, and a child's own inner workings can easily derail anything.

I do not understand people who keep guns in their home when living under the same roof as a deeply troubled person. I do not understand people who allow a deeply troubled person to bring guns into their house.

It seems to me that all these 'good guys with a gun' are just one bad day or breakdown away from being a 'bad guy with a gun"
