I fail to see how it is "irrelevant". On one side you have people having conniptions saying that Laura I. "ATTACKED" a "child" and she deserves to lose her show, etc.
NOTHING HAPPENED to the people who mocked Barron Trump. And he is 11.
Do you really consider these things equal? In one a 17 year old who is voluntarily "changing the world" is called whiny.
In the other case, an 11 year old (who has done NOTHING) is accused of being a murderer and a rapist.
Does "whiny" equal "murderer and rapist" to you?
Do you think 17 year olds and 11 year olds are at the same level of maturity?
I never said that two wrongs make a right. It's the hysteria from the left over something that is barely an insult, and OMG we need to stop cyber bullying. With Barron, we got shrugs.
The punishment does not fit "the crime" in either situation.
If a talk show host or journalist said those things about Barron Trump, than yes, they should face the same consequences as Laura Ingraham. Are you claiming that is what happened? That journalists and talk show hosts used their forum to try to humiliate a child? If so can you post a link?
BTW, it is worth noting that one of the people who is vehemently defending Barron Trump 's right to not be spoken of, is Chelsea Clinton, though no one ever did such a thing for her....

Anyone with any standards did. And that included many on the right here who I regularly argue with. Sadly not all of them, but I'd say the majority.
It's a tough balancing act. On one hand, they have been told to see themselves as the squinty-eyed, square-jawed alpha male men of action and dealers of death, protectors of all that's right with a gun in one hand and a flag in the other. On the other, they're not actually in charge and this has to gall them. Surely, with all those cool guns and amazingly deep understanding of freedom and whatnot, they should be the ones in charge. But as Umberto Eco puts it:

A 54 year old woman picking on a 17 year old kid, bullying him is a crying shame. As a mother herself, and what these kids went through that day, she should be understanding. She should have better things to with herself. She is a very mean spirited hateful person, she even look hateful. Then this kid end up showing her a thing or two. She was forced to apologize and back down, because advertisers started pulling out. Never underestimate they will of these young people.
That is usually what happens when a person not mature enough to vote and not mature enough to have a firearm, just getting a driver license, is going to tell the adults how to act, because his feelings got hurt.

Chelsea was treated brutally, especially by the left's idol - McCain.
I never cared for McCain, even less after the things he had said about Chelsea, but, the left loves him and doesn't care about the things he'd said.
