I didnt mention what drugs were prescribed. If you are asking about the bladder inf, they prescibed IV antibiotic and then sent me home with cipro. A very dangerous drug that should never be used except in a dire emergency. My dr had a fit when she found out what they had done. Very dangerous. She changed that real fast to a safer antibiotic.
The horse accident. The ER wanted to send with home with an opiod and other drugs. No thanks. Plain tylenol and a topical like Arnica gel took care of the swelling, severe bruising etc. no need for the drugs the er was prescribing. And then we have the routine tests that all drs and medicare want you to have. They hide it under preventive measures but are really looking for more drugs to push. More chronic diseases that dont really exist. We have had this debate about statins on this forum. Thats a biggy. But there are other too. Even type 2 diabetes. They want to hand out drugs even before they mention food and exercise.
Modern medicine is dangerous. And there are too much reliance on test results. If the test says neg or normal, the patient cant be ill. It must be all in their head.
Every test is looking for a result that indicates a drug prescription. They are searching for reasons to prescribe drugs. Because that is "medicine" today. That is considered "helpful."
You can think it's a good thing, or you can think it's a bad thing. But that is EXACTLY why they are giving the tests. To identify what drugs they can offer you. Even if you walk in in with nothing wrong. We need a baseline test. Why? All guidelines are specific as to when drugs can be offered. A baseline test is irrelevant. What matters to medical industry is the numbers. So why do they do a baseline? To see if you can be offered drugs.

Oh I believe it. The drug industry is out of control and modern medicine feeds it.
Yeah I get sick at all of those pharma ads and am amazed that people ask for these drugs which cause more problems than they solve. The drug companies at the very least greatly expanded the opioid crisis.
I'm not taking any drug but keeping my weight and diet in check which is the key to health.
I will say that in some cases, the pharma companies do deliver like in cancer and severe heart problems.
You're lucky. My blood pressure and cholesterol were high even when I was much thinner.

I was asking about this ER visit for the horse-riding accident. You went on angrily about drugs and tests when talking about that incident, plus the dumb (or was it "idiot"?) nurse.

She was an idiot. If a person says we dont give crutches to the elderly because they cant handle it, and doesnt think to herself how that sounds or what that means, she has either been so brainwashed by the medical establishment or just dumb. Either way its scary.
Thats looking at a birthday only and not the patient in front of you. Scary.
jaminhealth makes an immeasurable contribution to this forum by shining a bright light on the most corrupt industry that has ever existed in the history of man. An industry that does, indeed, manufacture "diseases" that are used to instill sufficient fear in the weak and gullible to enslave them to the industry's products and services, for which they have a billing blank check. A blank check with which they hold people in their most vulnerable moments upside down while emptying their pockets and forcing them to sign a promissory note for every spare nickel they'll ever have. The only difference between today's corporate medical cartel and Al Capone's empire is that that modern medical extortion doesn't require machine guns.
jaminhealth does her level best to open eyes and minds, but sadly, many remain too fearful of the medical Gods to ever remove their hands from in front of their eyes. Their loss....and society's loss....for it is this blindness that allows these corporate criminals to continue to pillage at will.
All I ever see you do is stalk and attack her. And there is precious little value in that. It is way past time for you to give it a rest.
I disagree.
And there is no need to stalk her - she is here on a public forum posting of her own free will. If she thinks she is being attacked it is because she very poorly presents her positions with "evidence" that doesn't pass muster. And THAT'S why we ended up here in "Politics and Controversies" where any kind of "argument" goes, substantiated or not.
lol? If you had late stage cancer, needed opioid drugs for the pain, and suffered constipation, you probably wouldn't think it was quite so funny.
There are exceptions all over the place with the medical world, and the OP is not making this a FUNNY post. No one wants the "C" dx and go thru that misery, I just lost a friend the other day to that nightmare.
But there are exceptions like the cholesterol myth which I do kinda believe is a myth.
Plus we can do a LOT for ourselves to prevent a lot of these dread diseases, I believe. Hang out in Alt Med and read some good info.
They suffered horrendously until death was merciful enough to take them.
Are you for real?
And many suffer the same way today with all the COSTLY cancer drugs and surgeries and and and..I just lost a friend who went through a 9 hr surgery and mega cancer drugs and she's gone, the pharma much wealthier. She said as she was failing, maybe I should have gone with what the other doctor said, no surgery.... But she had hoped the surgery would be her saving grace.....she's in peace.
Last night I was watching "Married at First Sight" on Lifetime (I know ), and almost every ad was encouragement to get one drug or another ("Ask your doctor . . .") - the one that was over-the-top called out "BabyBoomers" (big market) saying: "One out of 30 Babyboomers has Hep C but doesn't know it!"
The solution is for every BabyBoomer to "Ask your doctor for a bloodtest," as it's the only way to determine who has it!
Brilliant marketing! Totally appealing to fear . . .
I wonder what doctors think about all of these "Ask your doctor to prescribe this or that or order this or that test?" The silence is deafening.
