You are not a liberal, you are a democrat. The difference is, if you truly were a liberal, you would applaud Romney for aggressively seeking out the hiring of capable women for TOP positions when he didn't get many candidates from the party network to appoint. However, as a Democrat, you attack Romney for doing something that liberals should love, simply because he was a Republican. So you look for something petty...he said that the women's groups gave him binders of women's resumes...lulz he said binders derp...

Percentage wise Romney appointed more women as governor than Obama did as President to top positions. Obama was accused of running a boys club.

Had Romney been a Democrat, you would defend his comments. Total BS hyper-partisanship on the Democrats.
Actually, since I lived there at the time, I was well aware of his actual record. After an initial push to hire women so he could make the claim that he did, he reverted back in the direction of his track record in private industry of not hiring women.

Quote:
He does deserve credit for that first wave of appointments," said Carol Hardy-Fanta, senior scholar for the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy at University of Massachusetts at Boston who co-authored the report.

But the durability of Romney’s early effort was fleeting.

From 2004 to 2006, two years removed from the spotlight of the campaign, just a quarter of Romney’s appointments were women.

Upshot: By the time Romney left office, the percentage of women in those 135 positions was slightly lower than when he arrived, falling from 30 percent to just under 28 percent.
Romney says a survey found Massachusetts 'had more women in senior leadership positions than any other state' | PolitiFact

Which was at least somewhat better than his private industry track record of, oh, what was it again? That's right. ZERO WOMEN in high level positions.

Quote:
Romney, however, did not have a history of appointing women to high-level positions in the private sector. Romney did not have any women partners as CEO of Bain Capital during the 1980s and 1990s.

No, your statement is a lie. Romney said the quoted statement, and that is what this thread is about. His words. Not whether or not he actually likes hot dogs, which frankly, I don't believe. But I have discussed at length that this is about the way he expresses himself and not what he eats.

Bzzzt. You lose again, but thanks so much for playing.

I'd rather have 2 good hotdogs than a steak. We like what we like. Go watch Rattatoui.

Simple things we grew up with can be our favorites.

Although, my death-row last meal would be Giordanos deep dish with garlic, mushroom, sausage and onion.

The funny thing is that Mitt Romney whatever you think of his stances on policy is probably one of the most morally upright men in the country.

The left in thread after thread on this forum is bashing Trump for his sins and yet they cannot appreciate someone like Romney and bash him for saying he likes hot dogs.

You cant make this BS up.

The left does not really care if anyone is moral or not. Don't let them fool you.

are you seriously that obtuse?

The thread is about the ridiculous words Romney said, saying that hot dog is "a meat." Not what food he eats (or probably lies about eating but whatever)

And I'm a woman.

Did you know Mitt Romney used to be pro-choice on abortion? He's not principled, he's a panderer who "believes" whatever is expedient to believe in based on his next upcoming election.
