Why does this need to get over 12 pages of replies?
from my point of view, I'd say it is because people on the right like to attack someone on the left for making fun of a politician's inept way of expressing himself. In fact, they deliberately ignore my explanation and pretend that - despite my several clarifications - I care about whether Mitt Romney eats hot dogs, instead of my explicit statements that this thread exists because Roboto Romney says things like hot dogs are "a meat." It tickled my funny bone and I actually thought others would also get a chuckle out of it and move on.
But you may have a different opinion on it of why this thread kind of took on a life of it's own.
That's separate from the food specific comments about how hot dogs should be eaten and all that, which I personally took as lighthearted digressions that were appropriate for what was supposed to be a silly, not serious, thread to blow off a little steam in the midst of the often more intense political discussions about the corrupt and evil and inept administration currently in power.
Sometimes it's nice to find common cause in humor even with people you disagree with on policy. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out that way.
This is how you get Donald Trump for president. When the most mild-mannered candidates get nitpicked about every mundane aspect of their lives such as their culinary preferences or their choice of undergarments, what's the point of picking a "civil" candidate? There is none, so you get a giant walking middle finger for a President instead.
