There is no doubt that when all the information comes out we will learn that they were capturing every communication of the Trump campaign, including every detail of the daily operation of the campaign.
The Obama administration leaked highly classified information to undermine Trump, there is ever reason to believe that there were giving details of the Trump campaign to Hillary.
On CNN with Dana Bash, Giuliani: “They are giving us the material. I couldn’t do it if I didn’t have the material. They are giving us the material to do it. We are defending, to a large extent. Remember, Dana, we are defending here. It is for public opinion, because eventually the decision here is going to be impeach, not impeach.”

Giuliani just gave away that they are actually trying to get their hands on the evidence so they can figure out how to use it to spin public opinion.
Nunes isn't trying to get it for Congressional oversight. It's for obstruction of justice.

What Mike Hayden said and before him, David Frum have said is that “Deep State” is a synonym for “rule of law”, meaning that it represents how the institutions responsible to carry out functions of government, conduct their business, regardless of which party is in power.
Now you may think that General Hayden is the Deep State, but to me the weakest link in the “Deep State” theory, is for it to exist there would have to be some sort of shadow government, a command structure between different federal agencies to coordinate their activities.
Who’s the boss in such a secret cabal?
