They only support Israel for "End Times" reasons. They believe Jesus is going to return to Jerusalem and that America will play an important role in the geopolitics there when it happens. Moving the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem has been the official foreign policy of the United States since 1995. It is a public law called the Jerusalem Embassy Act. Every president since it passed has talked big about it on the campaign trail and then never followed through on its implementation, which was supposed to be a completed move by 1999.
All Trump is doing is not signing the semiannual waiver the law allows for, and is simply allowing the law to go into effect as it was supposed to 19 years ago.
The original Jerusalem Embassy Act was passed in October of 1995.
In June of 2017 the Senate passed a Unanimous Resolution to Reaffirm the Jerusalem Embassy Act.

President Trump informed Palestinian Leadership in June of 2017 that he was NOT signing another waiver. He informed the World on December 5, 2017 that the United States was going to move their Embassy to Jerusalem AND that this move was following US Law and NOT making any statement about Final Status for Jerusalem. Final Status must be worked out between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
EVERYONE knew this was coming and now act all "outraged" about it. That "outrage" is a sham. It's been 70 years of Status Quo with the Palestinians walking away from the table and the Israeli's giving them good deals (and Gaza). Doing the same thing for 70 years while watching Terror Attacks against the Israeli's and 1,000's being killed annually is Insanity. We begin by resetting the table, following US Law and hopefully that it's way past time for this Insanity to stop.
