Homeless people should be required to get drug tested to recieve any kind of charity...this would include shelters, soup kitchens, any government handout etc. Any homeless charity that doesn't drug test should lose any federal funding they recieve and their tax exempt status.

There are two reasons drug testing the homeless is vital. The first reason is it would insure that the "good" homeless...the non-drug abusers who fell on hard times, will get served. The other reason is that helping the drug using homeless enables them to continue their degenerate lifestyle. These addicts need to hit rock bottom for them to change their sinful ways.

First of all, do you really think that someone who is living on the street has not already hit rock bottom?

Secondly, let's apply the same rule, if we are going to have it, to all members of society, from our CEOs and politicians all the way down.

Charity should be private and the conditions left up to the provider.

Or, how about if we waive the drug test one time for each drug dealer they turn in?

Your verbiage and position on this topic make it clear you know very little about homelessness and drug addiction.

I rarely stop by here but I'm willing to bet the OP is a Trump supporter.

Drug testing is really marijuana testing which in my view should be legal. Hard drugs leave your system in about 3 days. You probably want to see the homeless picked up by a bulldozer and buried alive in a dumpster.

Many homeless, if not most, fell on hard times and many are families. I have compassion for them. I'm not in favor of further punishing children should the parent use harder drugs. I'm also taking a guess that abusers of hard drugs are a small percentage of the homeless population.

No to this absurd idea.

So the drug that is probably most responsible for homelessness should be legal.

So its better for children to be in a drugged environment than a drug-free environment. Now there’s compassion.

Yeah that’ll work.

Because a drug addict will always pick food/shelter over drugs. And being murdered by dealers.
