Seriously? What is happening. The USA President makes a formal statement that there's a special place in hell for Canada's Prime Minister, and in response people are questioning whether the Prime Minister's eyebrows fell off?

Canadians hope that Trump gets help for his anxiety over the meeting in Korea, and that he and his people return to their senses soon.
So the fact that Trump insults anyone who disagrees with him continues to be true. Trump calls Trudeau "dishonest & weak," and then Trump's adviser says there is a "special place in hell" for him. It's like Trump is purposely trying to undo decades of friendship with our neighbors to the north.
Putin is probably sipping vodka and laughing with his inner-circle as they watch this all unfold on television.
Trump is obviously doing for Putin what their agreement called for. In that he has been consistent, whatever Faustian bargain Trump made he is holding up his end.
It would have been better to skip G7, because now Trump looks like a weak & petulant child going into the NK discussions.
This is obviously a joke! Trump doesn't know how to "respectfully walk away". Just this morning we saw how he reacts when the deal is not right, and that deal was a negotiation with reasonable people who have been open and transparent. If he doesn't get what he wants in N. Korea, he will very dangerously poke a stick at a rabid dog.
"A bad deal is not an option," Pompeo said in his written opening statement for the House's foreign affairs committee hearing. "The American people are counting on us to get this right. If the right deal is not on the table, we will respectfully walk away."
The USA has to increase imports from the Middle East if Canada is shut out. Canada will distribute oil to the West. The government is expanding the pipeline West. The USA thinks it can strangle Canada into submission, but what will happen is that the USA will isolate itself from local markets and become reliant on expensive foreign markets. Actually, let me slow down a bit. Canada would never stop oil exports to an ally, regardless of how poorly the ally was behaving.
If the USA can manage without Canada, go for it. I believe that is the message from the Prime Minister of Canada to the USA after Trump ran away from the G7 meeting.
Okay, cheap crap stuff was made all over SE Asia. If the USA can produce and made everything it needs, have at it. Did you know that the robotic arm on the NASA space station was designed in Canada by Canadians? Imagine that this technology was not shared, or worse that it was destroyed (e.g.: Avro, Diefenbaker).

The US does not need Canadian oil. Fracked gas from Pennsylvania is a good enough substitute to keep power plants going. Coal from KY and WV can be used as well or turned into oil if the price point makes it feasible.

Russia annexed Crimea, invaded Ukraine, poisoned 2 ex-spies in England, attempted to steer our election and Trump thinks they belong back in the G-8. Why do people accept this as anything close to normal behavior for a president.
There's not a snowballs chance in hell that they will be voted back in so what's the point, his supporters think this is part of a greater strategy. He looks and sounds foolish.

The US economy is world's largest single economy by almost every measure. It will continue to be the world's largest single economy even if trends persist for another two decades.
So, no worries, Trump can personally take a dump on every world leader's desk and the US will still be relevant.
The point is that the lives of Americans have been sold by economic and liberal elite to other countries for bargain prices. America deserves better. In the meantime, you, however, can feel proud when a world leader who runs a country with no Fortune 50 company lectures us.
