Thank you for illustrating (perfectly!), the Fascist mentality behind the mindset of every "progressive" infecting and seeking to dominate what used to be a respectful place for the exchange of opinion.

This is a well-written piece from a Jewish woman, who from her credit, appears to be a student or teacher at Pennsylvania State U. It's from May 2016, but never more relevant as comparisons between Trump and Hitler proliferate from the left. I have actually heard Holocaust survivors quoted as being offended by the comparisons, but unfortunately can't lay my finger on such a quote now.

But this piece will do to make the argument. An excerpt:
A US President who thinks a dictator who murders his citizens is a role model for him WILL be compared to Hitler .
If he is not, he will be allowed to become a Hitler.

What scholar doesn't understand that we who were not persecuted are not stupid. How is their remembrance of History going to prevent a repeat if no one outside the Jewish community is going to be allowed to cry "warning"! when a world leader exhibits a treacherous mind .

Will these scholars wait until the Mexican children ripped from their parents die in his facilities across the country before they say, oh yeah, he has kinda always said bad things about Mexicans.....sheesh.

Trump has exhibited the personality of someone who would like to feel the power of taking someone's life. He is in awe of those leaders who have done so. A dictator who murdered an American young man not 2 years ago!!!! Openly!!! While in the same sentence insulting Americans and scapegoating anyone within pointing distance for his immoral and illegal behavior.

Pay attention.

Yawn... to a liberal, every conservative is Hitler. Bill Maher was compares someone o Hitler in every election cycle. The appellation has no meaning nor effect, in spite of it being he liberal's favorite broken billy club. The accusation has been reduced to be absolutely irrelevant.

The link I posted was well-written and insightful. As I posted, I have heard other quotes from Holocaust survivors who said they were offended by the Trump-Hitler comparisons, but a quick google search didn't turn them up. But she is not alone.
All I had to do was click on her name and it gave me all of her other pieces. Personally, I don't happen to believe the opinion of some sophomore at Penn State carries any more weight than the opinions of anyone else.

I'm a Jewish woman, and I think she's wrong, and my opinion is just as worthy as hers, even if you don't happen to agree with it. I think that as time has passed since May 2016, and we see the types of actions taken by a Trump administration, his similarity to the path walked by Hitler becomes ever more clear.

The biggest difference is that the more enlightened members of our society are refusing to let him get away with the things Hitler got away with. We are not idly standing by while he tears infant children away from their parents - people who by the way have a legal right to come into this country to request asylum.

And we aren't standing by while he attacks and derides whole groups of people based on their race, religion or national origin.

That fact that we can prevent Trump from exercising his own version of a Final Solution doesn't negate the comparison.

No one said that her opinion carries more weight. Again, you are on an ad hominem track, which entails a logical fallacy. Criticize what she says, not whom she is.

But here is another link for you, written by a Rabbi.

By diminishing that truth for an emotionally-satisfying, cartoonish magazine cover arguing, in effect, “See, the Americans elected their own Hitler!” some of today’s Germans are demeaning and eroding the memory of the victims of the Nazis, and degrading the moral and historic message about evil that Swastika is supposed to impart to new generations.
Worst of all: The diminution and beclouding of the unspeakable crimes of the Nazi past actually help today’s extremists repackage sanitized versions of Nazism for clueless younger generations

Pay attention.
Trump is trying to negotiate with that murderous dictator in order to make the world a safer place. This is why rule #1 of negotiations is: don't negotiate in public. Because people like you will misunderstand what is taking place. But unfortunately for Trump, in his position he can't adhere to rule #1.

Was FDR a 'Hitler' for reaching out to Stalin in WWII? No, FDR was working with a murderous dictator in an effort to crush Hitler.

You can pay attention all you wish, but if you don't understand what you're watching, it will be all for naught.

I m watching a serial adulterer scapegoating man child go in a room with a dictator who murdered an American boy and then shrugged their shoulders, then come home to America with only his photograph on a piece of paper like a signed autograph of a teenage girl from a crush, and NK happy that military and sanctions reliefs were gained from this president of the US.

You re expecting me to see a genius of a courageous man playing. who? What? He s getting NK to do what..take out Putin?? Align with U S against who? Trump only fights with Americans and its allies.

So yeah. I m right. He s creating an axis of evil as in calling the mostest and biggest world criminals his friends and the American free press and Mexico and Canada our enemies.

Who wants THAT guy in charge????

Again I ask the question you didn't answer: was FDR a 'Hitler' by reaching out to Stalin for help in winning WWII? Was Ike? He was very much a part of that arrangement as Allied Commander.

I suggest that you watch Trump's 2018 state of the union, readily available on youtube. Skip ahead to the section on North Korea.

Agree. I’m sure he’d love to be a dictator....he would on cloud 9

You can see how he envies dictators and amires then.

Trump’s ego is bottomless....larger than the universe...
all hail the all knowing (and lying) supreme leader.
