States elect the president in the electorial vote. The federal government does not govern the people directly. The federal government governs the States and the States elect the President of the United STATES
Your County/Paris governs you directly and if you live in a city corporations boundaries, you get governed by them also. Then if the is an HOA you get governed even more.
The more you are governed, the less LIBERTY you will have.
