I admit that my post of that video was more than a stretch. What it did do was show what a sense of entitlement does at the other end of the spectrum.

My apologies to those of you that I mislead.

How many of you laughed out loud when she said that a job is too much work?

Lightbulb What Corporate Welfare Creates

It creates bought and paid for congressmen, senators, and supreme court justices.

It results in moneyed interests controlling what remains of the USA.

Citizens United, anyone?

Though Republican, I do agree with the idea that corporation should not be given special privileges over the poor. A mother-in-law that is a CEO of a company getting such treatment is too much power/favoritism.

I've always disliked the term "corporate welfare" as it often refers to things that are not "welfare" at all by modern day understanding. Tax breaks (i.e. letting wealth creators keep more of their money) isn't welfare. Welfare is giving to others what they don't have/aren't paying in.

trump is the Welfare King. Subsidies in the form of tax reductions to Big Corporations and increased farm subsidies to farmers because of his stupid tariffs.

Republicans do not complain about the poor getting free stuff if they are in fact poor.

What we complain about is the welfare fraud and abuse that is rampant.

It is when good people work their butts off to get by and lazy people that can work are able to scam the system.
Welfare was created to give people a crutch to help them through tough times and most were embarrassed to be receiving it and got off it as soon as they could. Today we have so many that use it like a benefit that they expect.

There is another side to that coin. The young woman in the video below currently gets an allowance of $1000 a month and it's not enough. Corporate welfare creates people like the one below, and you voted for it.

"You vote Republican to get rid of one of the stingiest social safety nets in the world."

In your mind which program are you talking about?

"Corporate welfare creates people like the one below"

Explain WHY you think this.

I disagree we must support these companies during peaceful times, witness how quickly we rampred up military production after Pearl Harbor. It's simply putting lipstick on the pig of corporate welfare, it's still a pig. Most if not all of these companies make more than enough profit to sustain themselves during lean times, let's not expect American taxpayers to do it.

The RW worship of corporations is truly mind-boggling.

"Most if not all of these companies make more than enough profit"

Back it up.

Government (welfare) payouts of any sort, whether to individuals or corporations create corruption and waste. All such programs and payments should be eliminated.

Now, I am not calling for the elimination of programs created for all and payed into by working people such as Medicare or Social Security. I also advocate for the continued existence of Medicaid, particularly for end of life, where most of it is used.

However, subsidies, bailouts, food stamps, housing vouchers, etc should all be done away with at the federal level. If individual states want to engage in such activities, go ahead.
