Thanks for that update. Still puzzling heck out of me why Trump is so weak and timid on this and not taking stronger action in face of clear abuses, it's politically stupid on his part. Trump comes off so strong and unwavering on the wall, facing powerful opposition that probably won't let him have it, even though in reality, the wall would have at best questionable effect on things. Most Americans' jobs and wages aren't threatened by lettuce pickers leaping over the border.

While Americans' jobs and livelihoods are threatened by a flood of cheap labor in white-collar jobs that the H-1B brings in, as we say with the Disney shenanigans in 2015, H-P, Facebook, Con-Edison, Microsoft and most banks and insurance companies, not to mention experienced computer programmers being put out to pasture while younger programmers out of college can't get starting jobs to pay their student loans. This is an issue where Americans are well unified across the party lines, that the H-1B visa needs to be shut down or at least have a moratorium, and it affects them personally. So Trump would win huge political capital by just taking stronger action against the H-1B, repealing Obama's H-4 order on H-1B spouses, imposing tougher minimum salary requirements, skills and even doing a moratorium. This issue alone could give Trump almost guaranteed re-election if he takes strong action, it'll win him the key Independents in swing states like Florida and Pennsylvania. And what's more, it's easy to do, he won't face a wall of democratic opposition since he can just use an Executive Order and bureaucratic maneuvers, the law already gives him wide ability to do it.

And yet, Trump is totally chickening out on the easiest move he could make to boost his re-election chances, and kowtowing to Silicon Valley execs and others who hate him anyway. It's just bizarre. Even people how really despise Trump have admitted he's a fighter and doesn't back down. But on the easiest battle for him to win, he's showing himself to be a total wimp. He's committing political suicide by being so weak and timid on this issue.

Seems to be a lot of this fake credentialling going on so doesn't surprise to hear it. Only surprise is why Trump is wimping out so completely in long overdue crackdown on the H-1B visa. Whoever in his campaign is advising him to do this, President Trump needs to fire him immediately and sue him to recoup anything his campaign has paid out in consulting fees because this is absolutely the worst political advice in modern history. And if it's Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump needs to bar them from the White House because they're giving terrible advice. What does Trump think he's gaining by getting so soft on the H-1B? The Silicon Valley execs will hate him anyway and give millions to his opponents. and he's setting himself up for a humiliating defeat in 2020 by angering his base and Independent voters esp. in swing states, losing tens of millions of voters. OTOH if Trump keeps his campaign promises and shuts down or at least guts the H-1B, he'll get tens of millions of votes even among Dems and guarantee a 2020 re-election. He's an idiot and a wimp if he goes soft on this.

Government actions are taken to favor some lobby. Unfortunately every big business benefit from immigration - legal or illegal- due to cheap labor. Nobody thinks about its impact on common man. Universities lobby is making money on foreign students. Freight industry is pushing asylum seekers and diversity visa holders into Trucking industry. If you guys spend some time at any truck stop, you will listen lot of foreign languages and they are paid a pittance. Same way the main purpose of H-1b visas is to depress the wages by flooding foreign workers. Big businesses are only answerable to shareholders and investment funds- they don't care about American people jobs. This country is setup like this only - Bigg Business First

This is why we need to get workers organizing to change the balance of power.
Currently, politically and economically the business class has all the power.

It's simple - Trump's stance on immigration is not about jobs, it is about racism. He has vilified people from south of the border. They are an easy target because they are not being hired by the cream of American industry - Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, HP, etc. They are being hired by farms and construction jobs which have zero clout in Congress. He has created a blame-culture, in which he convinces Americans that a lot of their problems are due to people south of the border. But dollar for dollar, a lot more American jobs are threatened by the H1-B visa. But his scapegoat is an easy target because nobody except the evil Democrats are going to call him on it. But if he went after all the Chinese and Indian people working on H1-B visas, he would get swarmed with angry lobbyists. He has picked the perfect scapegoat.

It is hilarious that US Legal system- judges, Lawyers always side with the Foreign workers at the expense of American workers. This is possible only in one country of the world - USA.

claim in their lawsuit filed in May that a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services policy requiring H-1B-applicant companies to disclose every location visa holders will work imposes an impossible burden, according to a report on the court decision.

Their business model requires that they “have the flexibility to move workers around as needed,”

One Person arrested for submitting 11 fake H-1B applications. I wonder how many such small staffing companies are there in USA and how many such fraud experience / credentials people are working in USA-many of them must have become citizens now.

How many Americans were displaced from their jobs by this guy ??

Melanoma came in on a tourist VISA she worked.
Melanoma then applied for a working VISA, wherein she had to lie and say she didn't work.
Melanoma then appplied for citizenship, it was granted expeditiously (which is generally granted for people who have extraordinary talents - scientists etc.) hers because she was extraordinarily talented "model"

In addition to Individual No. 1's taxes, we should gain access to her citizenship application.

Her parents due to chain migration (which Individual No. 1) have just been recently granted citizenship.

OOOPS

Trump doesn't actually care about this sort of thing. His immigration rhetoric is just that... rhetoric to get votes.

If he actually cared about illegal immigration, we'd see mass prosecutions of the hundreds of thousands of employers who knowingly and openly hire illegal immigrants. But that won't happen.

And it's the same with H1B's. Corporations openly abuse the process. And neither party will address that because money talks.
