They are private companies, and they can do whatever they want, Right?
I have said elsewhere that if you're in the customer service business, you should serve the customer regardless of whether you agree with them or not. Gay, black, Muslim or Trump supporter, serve them. I'm not big on Alex Jones being removed from these services, but it's their right. It just managed to get his name in the media a lot today.

The alternatives are not real options.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/...video-portals/

If you look at the numbers the biggest alternative to youtube style videos is bing videos which has .9% of the market share. Even Microsoft can't compete with youtube. Someone gets booted off youtube and they lose 98% of their audience. They can't simply flip over to video portal "b" and have business as usual.
The only people that are concerned about this market share stats of platforms are attention w****s who believe that their popularity is determined by being in those popular platforms . If that's the case, you weren't all that interesting and people didn't care what you had to say with anyways.

If your content drives traffic, then it will bring that traffic to whatever platform you move to. You would not loose your audience, the audience would follow you.

It is the content not platform that beings an audience and success.

Technology changes fast.... It didn't take long before MySpace was replaced as people migrated to another platform. If enough conservatives moved to another platform, their audience would move with them.

People don't follow you because you are on YouTube... They follow because they want to know what you have to say. If they don't, you aren't as important as you think you are....

And if you are the bolded suck it up and do whatever you need to do as required by the platform you are on so that you can continue to receive the level of attention you so desperately desire.

Well, Hillary Clinton did order them all to "Hurry up."

Ban ban ban. Coming again from the left. Because that's where it always comes from.

Common... "Pull yourself up from the bootstraps" and figure something out. Isn't that what many of you have been saying to liberal whiners who have to face adversity?

Its your own dang fault that you do business with the very company (Google and Facebook in this case) that you have been criticizing all these years. If you are a guest under their roof, you have to be a well behaved guest and live by their rules.

Alex Jones and company could simply collude with each other and move to another platform. Then aggressively market the platform of their choice. That is business.. That is capitalism... Or did they forget that that's one of the aspects of being conservative? Whining for government intervention? Seriously?? That's not what I expected from so called conservatives.

The liberals were able to build these platforms.... And the liberal group was able to coordinate the ban on Alex Jones. Are we saying that they are smarter and more capable? Looks like it from where I stand.

Course they could figure out how to exploit the SEO of the new site, but that's a lil different.
You got it! That is exactly what a LOT of people on these social media channels are doing. So they can get a following, nothing like the big league ones like I mentioned earlier, but if they were to move, they would lose that following because the majority would not think enough of their "product" to follow them off of the big platform that still holds other people they currently follow. However, if Pewdiepie were to leave YouTube and go to another platform, boy would that hurt YouTube in a huge way.

Default The Alex Jones debacle underscores the importance of net neutrality

While I do support YouTube's right to remove InfoWars content from its platform, I do NOT support ISPs' right to block users from accessing said content. However, thanks to Trump and the GOP, corporations like Comcast could legally block their subscribers from seeing certain content or could make subscribers pay more for access. It wouldn't surprise me if a SCOTUS case is coming in the medium term future over an issue such as this. Hopefully this makes conservatives think twice about their opposition to net neutrality. It seems to me this is one of those issues where conservatives were against it simply because Obama was for it without really understanding what it meant.

Vimeo has a market share of over 15%, just sayin'.

This is the kind of thing smart people ponder before they violate the TOS, and not after.
