Sessions isn't going anywhere unless Trump fires him. If he does fire him then Rosenstein will take over while they await Trumps next appointment, that is a winning strategy. These people that think its a good idea haven't really thought this out very well.

You guys are so desperate top get Trump, that you'd fall for anything. Sessions is doing exactly what Trump wants him to be doing. This twitter feud has the left defending Sessions and turning him into a hero. One that will be above reproach when he drops the hammer on the D's corruption. Sessions offered his resignation long ago. If Trump wanted him gone, he would have accepted it.

This is like professional wrestling. You think there's a good guy and a bad guy, but the truth is it's just a show and both wrestlers are actually friends.

You have inadvertently stumbled upon the truth. Trump puts on a pretty good show but it's phony as a three dollar bill.

I think Trump really does have a grudge with Sessions and wants to fire him but can't politically and doesn't like him and probably never did much. I think Trump and his allies are just trying to turn the Trump base against Sessions many who originally supported Sessions. Trump is most likely going to fire Sessions soon after the midterms and his brooding in the meantime.

Your insight is interesting. What's your source?

My two eyes and ears. And by the way, how's Trump's investigation in Hawaii into Obama's citizenship coming along? You remember that? The one where he had a team of investigators "digging up all kinds of stuff". Can you name one thing they dug up? Or was Trump just lying through his teeth the whole time and never even had any investigators in Hawaii in the first place. Like I said--"phony as a three dollar bill".

oooohhh, you got 'em there... BTW, didn't the Hillary campaign/supporters bring up the birther thing to begin with?

Quote:
According to the article, the theory that Obama was born in Kenya “first emerged in the spring of 2008, as Clinton supporters circulated an anonymous email questioning Obama’s citizenship.”

The second article, which ran several days after the Politico piece, was published by the Telegraph, a British paper, which stated: “An anonymous email circulated by supporters of Mrs Clinton, Mr Obama’s main rival for the party’s nomination, thrust a new allegation into the national spotlight — that he had not been born in Hawaii.”

Both of those stories comport with what we here at FactCheck.org wrote two-and-a-half years earlier, on Nov. 8, 2008: “This claim was first advanced by diehard Hillary Clinton supporters as her campaign for the party’s nomination faded, and has enjoyed a revival among John McCain’s partisans as he fell substantially behind Obama in public opinion polls.”

Claims about Obama’s birthplace appeared in chain emails bouncing around the Web, and one of the first lawsuits over Obama’s birth certificate was filed by Philip Berg, a former deputy Pennsylvania attorney general and a self-described “moderate to liberal” who supported Clinton.

But none of those stories suggests any link between the Clinton campaign, let alone Clinton herself, and the advocacy of theories questioning Obama’s birth in Hawaii.

One of the authors of the Politico story, Byron Tau, now a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, told FactCheck.org via email that “we never found any links between the Clinton campaign and the rumors in 2008.”

Lightbulb Why has Sessions finally grown a backbone?

It's possible he thinks that as long as he remains in his office as AG, he won't be targeted by Mueller.

"We'll see what happens."

I'll bet you're a birther. Just like Trump. And if you're not then you have to admit that Trump lied.

Trump v Sessions is theater. The more Trump hammers on Sessions, the more the left defends him and praises his honesty and bi-partisan integrity. Now there can be no complaints when Sessions brings the hammer on the corruption of the DNC.

Sessions secretly hired John Huber & a staff of almost 500 to investigate all criminal referrals from the IG. They've quietly been at work for over a year now. He had them set up in Utah, far from the swamp creatures and media spotlight of DC. Sessions has 50k+ sealed indictments sitting on ice. An average year sees about 1k sealed indictments, so Sessions has something massive up his sleeve. Sessions offered his resignation and Trump refused it. Trump could have accepted it, rid himself of Sessions and avoided the political firestorm, but chose not to. It's a game.

I think there's a very strong chance that any or all of the following are also part of the same game...Bannon, Stormy, Cohen, Omarosa. I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting at the moment.
