That is the most outrageous victim shaming. You obviously have an agenda and are determined to stick to it no matter how much it slams the victim for simply acting like an average person in his own home. "He could have had some more lights on" SMDH.

I know. When I read it, I had to take a deep breath, and remind myself that coincidences really do happen.

But...

You folks all lost your mind?

Where does it say Jean did anything wrong?

That his innocent actions simply ties to the fact that a whole lot of random events came together in a tragic way.

Too bad you are unable to understand what actually happened.

.
The ONLY action that caused all this, was Amber Guyger choosing to shoot him.

And for that she got 10 years. But there were still a long train of events that led to the tragedy. And any one of them not occurring would likely have prevented the shooting.

Witness in Trial of Former Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger Fatally Shot. Officials have not publicly identified a motive or suspect in the shooting of Joshua Brown, who provided key testimony about the 2018 killing of Botham Jean.

A witness who delivered key testimony in the trial of Amber Guyger — the white former Dallas police officer convicted this past week in the murder of an unarmed black man, Botham Jean — was fatally shot on Friday night, a lawyer for Mr. Jean’s family said.
The witness, Joshua Brown, 28, who had lived in the same apartment complex as Ms. Guyger and Mr. Jean, was shot several times by an unknown assailant, Lee Merritt, the family’s lawyer, said on Twitter Saturday night.
Mr. Brown’s death occurred just two days after a Dallas County jury sentenced Ms. Guyger to 10 years in prison, well short of the maximum 99 years that she could have received in the killing of Mr. Jean, a 26-year-old immigrant from the Caribbean island nation of St. Lucia.

Right this minute, the only rational reaction any outsider can have is 'We don't know'.

I am in hopes that we will eventually know.

There aren't any "reasons" in that video. Just a lot of stupidity.

And it's stupid in several ways.

1. The premise that DPD would do this is stupid even if the rest of it were true.
2. She's not going to get a re-trial.
3. The testimony they focus on (whether she gave "police commands") was not important.
4. The sworn testimony of a dead person is admissible at a re-trial. See Texas Rule of Evidence 804(b)(1)(B).
