Here's where I have a problem with abortion... A mother can kill her fetus, but no one else can (fetal homicide laws). Either make killing a fetus legal for all or legal for none. Equal Protection Clause.
Does possession and ownership not come into it at all? After all I can scratch my own car with a key if I wanted to. If you came into my zone and scratched it with yours however you would likely - and quite rightly - be prosecuted for it. Similarly I can punch myself in the nose. If you punch me in the nose however - I would trust you might even do time.
So no - I do not see at all why someone being allowed terminate their own pregnancy means others should automatically be allowed do it too.
Further the termination of the fetus is not without risk to the pregnant woman. So to terminate one inside someone else without their consent could also be viewed as a physical and dangerous attack on that woman too.
Nope - I am perfectly happy with the pregnant woman being the usual and mostly sole port of call on whether her fetus can or should be terminated or not. Your own username says it all. It is an action requiring informed consent where possible.
Correct. No one has any intention to overturn it. However, both sides believe the GOP telling them they want it overturned. The message is directed at evangelicals to get their vote. They believe it and vote accordingly, and the message also heard and believed by pro-choice liberals who react accordingly.
Both groups believe a lie, and react based on that lie. It goes on to show how brainwashed Americans are.
I am really concerned that our country is going in the wrong direction. Can you imagine how many lives will be destroyed if such things were to be overturned?
I am in favor of returning both to the states. Oh and Roe Vs Wade wouldn't destroy lives it would save lives and at the same time make people take some personal responsibility for their actions and think before they act.

Which is the true driver behind the anti-abortion movement and is also why most anti-abortion people are also against some if not all types of birth control. It's all about trying to force abstinence before marriage.

The "saving of lives" mantra make one's stance on the abortion issue seem as an attempt to make oneself appear to support a morally superior position, more so than one that deals with the constitutional rights of women in general. And the same can be said for those who would tell others who they can marry. So, these issues are not really the business of government as much as they are about moral stances and the notions of democracy trumping theocracies. We do have a growing number of people who would have their church sermons becoming law--if they could. And those same people are usually found to be speaking out against government "overreach."
This is the odd thing about so much of the modern day political friction, a dichotomy of priorities wherein the democratic construct is being utilized to undermine itself in pursuit of a theocratic form of government. Ultra conservatives have forsaken the spirit of democratic freedom, and in it's place they have attempted to establish a moral imperative in our government institutions. This is the opposite of any notion of true constitutional freedom, but the fact that this is the truth of the evangelical political movement allows us a view to what they really are gunning for at the SCOTUS level. This isn't about justice, it's about just-us..

Too young to remember that the confirmation of Roberts FOR SURE meant the end of Roe vs. Wade?
If you don't know your history, you're just that much easier to scare and manipulate.
