I saw that "why did you do it" post, and didnt respond bacause to me it's just as bonkers as some of the others on here, just I guess better worded?
I mean both sides have done some amazingly insane things over the past decade years, Republicans aren't in any position to be full of righteous anger right now. Remember pizzagate (folks were literally accusing others of RUNNING A PEODOPHILE RING), the never ending drama over Obama's birth certficate, the 15,000 investigations into Benazghi that turned up nothing but people still refuse to put it away, accusing the Clintons of murder constantly, the OMG OBABA IS COMMUNIST SECRET FACST CONSPRING TO RUIN THE COUNTRY thing, the whole out personal attacks against teenagers who just watched their friends die at Parkland... I could go on and on and on.
Democrats for their part have never owned up to not holding Bill Clinton accountable for his rapey past with women or Hillary for enabling him, they absolutely refuse to give Trump even an inch even when he does something that might turn out to be good, and don't call the press to task when they publish dumbass articles about Trump's ice cream eating habits or Melania's hat because they like the animosity it sows. They re just as guilty of gerrymandering as Republicans but don't own it, and treated Bernie Sanders like crap even though he was telling them something useful about thier base it they'd just listen.
This whole "OH MY GOD THE DEMOCRATS HAVE SUNK SO LOW" thing over this nominaton is so... just spare me. Where has everyone been for all the dirty pool and outrage trolling that's been going on for decades? Now you're mad? All the crazy crap that's been going on since Trump was elected but this was above and beyond? Whatever.
Not fairytales, most people just hope for a reality that isn’t as grim as the current one.
I am not a conservative but seriously what is grim? My life is good, my future is bright. It does not depend on who occupies the white house, congress or the supreme court.
As a libertarian if I based my happiness on having those I agreed with in power I would be in suicide watch for the past 30 years.
