Years of democrats calling this a “small problem” is what led to this huge problem we have now. They would like to keep calling it a “small problem” so that we go on ignoring it like we have for decades. And the republicans haven’t been any better. But the republicans didn’t suddenly create a crisis. Many of us have viewed it as a crisis for a very long time, yet both democrats and republicans in office have ignored it to the point where it became so large that it is in everyone’s face, making it hard to ignore any longer.

If Clinton, Bush, or Obama did anything remotely effective on this one issue, I wonder if Trump would have ever been elected.

We now have an administration willing to tackle this long ignored, massive problem.

Republicans are laser-focused on immigration; but that does not mean everyone is.

That said, I like Beto O'Rourke's idea. Instead of spending all our money on middle-east never-ending WARS, why can't we help places like Guatemala to improve their infrastructure and THEIR economy so their people wont want to keep leaving to come here.

I like it.
We have been sending billions of dollars to places like mexico, honduras, el salvador and guatamaula. Their corrupt govts keep it for themselves.
Short of replacing their govt by force and installing people we like, (which we know how THAT ends...badly), what do you suggest?
Beto is a pro illegal immigration anti ICE political hack. We need to secure our borders and enforce immigration laws.

Now that they have found they were able to inflate illegal immigration to a national crisis (pubs love crisis because they use it to grab more power) they will never work to fix it. They will do nothing, as usual, and blame the dems for their own inactivity.
Immigration reform is not needed, at all. The existing laws work fine, they allow over 1 million people to legally immigrate to the US each year. 1 million people.

The real reason for the "reform" is because the illegals don't qualify. No country in the world wants uneducated unskilled poor people. That's just a fact.

Instead of posting lies about Beto, why don't you google who hires illegals? Spend a little time. In my state it is home builders and food processors. Texans like cheap houses and cheap chicken and catfish. They have yet to figure out the real cost of their cheap stuff. It is easier to blame the other political party.

Also, the USA started that mess in Central America trying to get the people we liked in power. And who can forget Iran Contra?

Why don't we call on the church that tells their parishioners that children are a gift from G-d to help stabilize Central America.

Why doesn't the USA make e verify workable?

We could also jail people who hire illegals. Million dollar fines are just a cost of doing business.

I think it has become clear that Republicans can't win a majority of the Hispanic vote without completely throwing conservatism and whites under the bus like democrats have. Republicans can only pick up a few percent more Hispanics by catering to them but not many. That would rightly so alienate many conservative and white voters.

The Democrats are winning at least in the long term with open borders to (future) Democrat voters and pandering to ethnocentrism concerns of Hispanic voters and other identity groups.

I like it.

Lack of jobs, high healthcare costs and lowered wages is the direct result of illegal immigration.

Yes they do. They want immigration reform. Even Dems are against heroin epidemics, believe it or not.

Tricky business ,however ,the immigrants currently incarcerated in tents from the last roundup may come of age soon enough to start moving them onto our nations farms and rich homes before 2020. While all the while blaming democrats for these " caravans,"

Where is the incentive for masses of people to come here for work?
What are they being told?
Any of them interviewed along the way ? Yes. They said they are coming to work. Not get free health care. Not to vote. They don't care if they hang out in tents before they get a job. They re being fed....not educated but tellin ya they don't care. What they fled was worse.

Republicans are bringning the masses here.
Make no mistake.
No wall needed. Except to blame democrats for obstructing it s construction. Very basic. And simple minded people buy in.

What utter nonsense! There are unlimited visas for legal, foreign farm workers. If one needs cheap, illegal labor to stay afloat then they need to go out of business.

Illegal aliens aren't "immigrants" either. The Democrats are to blame for these caravans with constant promises of amnesty, sanctuary cities, opposing border and internal security and wanting to abolish ICE.

These illegals do get free healthcare no matter if that's an incentive to them or not. As for voting well there is evidence that some do even if that's not their initial intent of coming here. Their kids are being educated in our schools. If they are truly fleeing worse under the criteria for an asylum seeker under U.S. law then let them plead and prove their case but don't enter our country illegally first.

Yes, we do need a wall. I have posted several links proving how the good walls already in place have been very effective in deterring illegal immigration but you and yours just ignore them as it doesn't fit your agenda.
