Is there not enough enough stuff genuinely important going on where (and I say this of both sides) these things should not even be on the radar?

Some of these threads are unbelievable (again on both sides).

well, somebody showed up with a t shirt has a tiny flag logo on the side, this wannabe political fashion police old hippie threw a hissy fit.

Moral of the story, find qualified volunteer next time, (at least find somebody who know the "RULES") so they won't get in the way. Total waste of everybody's time.

A neckbeard in a Klan robe and some hipster with a hammer and sickle shirt should both be allowed to vote without interference from some idiot poll worker.

I would have asked Santa if he protested the Vietnam War.

Did you even read the story, the poll worker was a man with a beard..

Yes there are rules and wearing the USA flag is not restricted in them, your welcome to flip your shirt that's your choice but I would stand my ground.

Does the gender really change anything?

You would be well within your rights to stand your ground, as the poll worker was wrong.

Like I said, I would make sure I got to vote first, and then I would take action.

You would take action first, and then vote.

Again, does that change anything at all?

That poll worker looks old and confused.

The guy got to vote -- he wasn't blocked-- he was initially blocked, refused to put his shirt on inside out and ended up voting anyways.

There are stupid people everywhere -- left and right.

well, the only stupid one in this story is the political fashion police.

Why should the vet put his shirt on inside out when the stupid poll worker didn't even know the God damned rule ? The bottom line is that this vet did not do anything wrong.

Admit it, you really don't have any excuses to defend this old hippie, so you have to throw in the "stupid people everywhere, left and right" line. LOL So predictable.
