Well, what he said was pretty much advocating for the elimination of Israel as a nation state. That's pretty easily interpreted as anti-Semitic whether it was intended as such or not.
The fact that the phrase he used is commonly used by groups like Hamas certainly didn't do him any favors.
I never heard him say that he wanted Israel eliminated. He’s clearly taking sides, but pro Israel Americans have no qualms about taking sides and advocating for the complete destruction of the Palestinian’s dream for a state, and worse, many conservative Israel Firsters have advocated for Israel to finish ethnically cleansing the land of all Arabs...a job they started in the 40’s.

MLH can try to play that off as a vague coincidence (and he is) but that's pretty damning.
No surprise though. He's always been a racist/hate-filled person.
Always interesting how people can understand comments like that, but dont understand the term "dog whistle" or phrases referred to as dog whistle, and claim everyone is just being paranoid.
He shouldn't apologize. Instead, he should bring attention to CNN's clear bias in favor of Israel. How can a "news" company be expected to do fair reporting on issues concerning Israel and Palestine when they have such a bias in the first place? He should hit that home.

What Hill said is tame in comparison.
Without specific examples, I can't comment intelligently. Are there other news/media folks advocating for ethnic cleansing of Arabs in Israel? If so, they should get canned, too.
This thread is about Hill, specifically.
He didn't come out and explicitly say "I want Israel eliminated". However, saying he would like to see a "free Palestine from the river to the sea", is pretty obvious. The nation of Israel is in between the Jordan River and the sea. If that geography becomes a "free Palestine", how does it also remain the nation state of Israel? Also, as I said earlier, essentially borrowing a phrase used by Hamas and other terror groups didn't help dissuade the notion that he was simply advocating for "justice", whatever that means.
I haven't seen a full transcript of the speech, however. Have you? Maybe there is other context for the quotes I've seen published.
IF his comments were truly innocuous, I have a hard time believing CNN would have severed ties.
this journalistic hack is just that. He was at Temple U the same time I was there. He is a closet homosexual as well. He was known to hang out in Beury hall bathroom that was a known hot spot for gay men.

yeah that wouldn't really play well with the black panther types

lol That's not anti semetic, that's just a weak attempt at connecting dots. Just like the lie about Iran wanting to wipe Israel off the face of the earth when it was about their ruling regime and not the country or people.
