I grew up in the 60's when some of these toys came out. I would never get a GI Joe as it was a "doll", and only girls payed with dolls. However, my cousin had them, so when I would be over there at least played with the SCUBA GI Joe in the fish tank. Yeah, good times. My female cousins had Barbies, and the pink, early AC Cobra that Barbie drove. The only time we touched them is when we wanted to shoot them with BB guns, but I digress.
Things were a lot simpler back then, and to think fifty years, or so later we are talking about LGBT, and Tranny Barbie says something about society. Not all good either.
It makes me wonder what kids 20-40 yrs will be playing with too.
We can look back and see how interracial and homosexual relationships/marriages came to be tolerated and accepted, and eventually celebrated...if history is any indicator, 'sexual preferences' that are CURRENTLY taboo, or even criminal, are very likely to be the next things that will be tolerated, accepted and celebrated.
Not every media franchise needs a Black, White, Muslim, straight, LGBT, Asian, Native American, Jew, or Christian character.
But some do need some or all of those. If Mattel sells Bride and Bride Barbie, then they'll continue making them. If they don't, they'll switch to something else. That's really all there is to it.
I know.
I also heard the one about Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.
I think toys should be available to everybody.
We don't need to be shoving toys in front of kids faces that promote immoral and degenerate lifestyles. Ain't no kid wanna see that. If Mattel wants to make these then they should be selling them in the porn store. Let kids be kids. If two adults wanna embrace homosexuality keep that stuff in the closet where it belongs. Cause once Sharia law becomes the law of the land in the United States that's where this stuff is gonna take place.

No. Kids can come up with that all by themselves.
But hey we live in a convenient prepackaged world.
I remember a friend telling me her and her sister would strip barbie and ken naked and have them have sex.

Fixed it for you.
Thanks for admitting that the GOP vision for America really isn't that different from Iran or Saudi Arabia. Same oppression, different holy book.
Watching the evening news and saw a same sex couple hoping to meet with Mattel Toy designers to consider adding
same sex couples Barbie Dolls to their wedding sets that may end up on the shelves of many New York toy stores and outlets.
As an old school conservative you would think I'm going to throw rocks at this idea but to many a surprise I'm not against
making toys for all segments of the population. It is only fair. It leaves no one left out. A toy for everybody is after all a happy
thing don't you think?
What's your response ?
Inquisitive minds would like to know.
Don't care. Folks don't like it? Don't buy it. Crisis averted.

Folks don't like guns? Don't buy any. Crisis averted.
