Keeping the government shut down is the only leverage that Trump has on this issue. If he caves in and doesn't get a deal on the wall while agreeing to open the government back up first the Democrats will never discuss the issue again and it will be over. That is because the private sector has proven to screw things up especially in regards to healthcare. The U.S. is the only civilized nation with no socialized medicine. How can Canada and European countries make it work, yet we don't want to try to make it work?

We have a fairly large government employer here. The Bureau of Public Debt. Some are getting paid and some are not. I know this for a fact.
