This is NOT how Pelosi, or any other Democrat, envisioned starting off the new year and the new Democrat-controlled House. They thought January would be a month of subpoenaes, congressional investigations, Mueller reports, and maybe even indictments. They thought they would be on the attack and Trump on his heels. They thought they would be controlling the action.

Dumb Dems celebrated in November as if they had captured total control of government, apparently too stupid to understand that the GOP still controlled the White House, the more powerful Senate, and SCOTUS. They were going to immediately get Trump's tax returns. They vowed to reopen government on day 1. They thought they held all the power. Well they are finding out they essentially have no power at all. Pelosi and her butler Schumer are starting to realize this.

Trump is controlling the agenda not Pelosi. Trump wakes up in the morning and decides what the discussions that day will be about. Pelosi wakes up and turns on CNN to see what Trump decided.
I think the Dems are proceeding just as they wanted to. Michael Cohen will be testifying publicly before Congress soon, so there's that. Trump is trying to herd cats at this point. Just saw him at the border. Migrants were lined up as far as the eye could see!

So, when they say "no," to the very things they were proponents for, Trump knows they are still playing politics and it's a waste of time to talk to these scumbags.
They're saying no because they know how much Trump lies and knows that even if they agreed to what he is asking, he'd change the goalposts on them. They're onto him.

Not everyone is willing to launder money, for Russian oligarchs, to achieve financial security, or pad their emergency fund.

This whole "Wall" thing is so stupid! The reason south Americans, Mexicans, etc keep crossing the border is because they KNOW they will have GUARANTEED emoyment once in the US. The largest employers of illegals (who don't even speak English) are Country Clubs, Hotels and large venues with banquet halls. Next time you go to attend your office party, conference, your cousin's wedding, look around you. The people who are serving you and that you tip, are in the US illegally. The venues don't hire them directly but sneak them in through employment agencies operated by Nigerians!

That's probably the worst explanation for why it's ok for Trump to keep the government shut down that I have ever read

Yes for maybe a month or month or two if they get paid ok. A good number of government employees are not paid much more than me at 12 an hour (I'm a paraprofessional in a local school district). Try saving at say below $15 an hour. At $15 an hour, they would make roughly $1010 after taxes for 40 hours weeks.

The democrats are responsible for the shutdown continuing. They won't negotiate on things that they themselves, in the past, have said we need to do.
Yah. They have made attempts and repeat themselves ad nauseum...
Congress will not open their purse and give Trump 5bil for Wall construction .

They will pour $$.$$ at his feet for hiring more security, raising the wages of Agents, purchasing drones , vehicles, cybertech surveillance....

Wil the real representative for American Border Security please stand up...

Trump is not a negotiator. He is the hostage taker..

Default A shutdown stalemate as Trump goes factual, Democrats illogical

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opini...cid=spartanntp

Post-speech fact-checking was particularly farcical. The Washington Post said Trump’s claims of “266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records” in two years was “accurate but misleading,” because it included all crimes. Huh?
Another complaint was that Trump’s claim that one in three women in caravans were sexually assaulted; the complainer pointed to a study that said it was actually 60 to 80 percent of them. Trump had understated the case. Obviously nobody knows the actual numbers; a good guess might be “a lot.”

Thank God we have Trump to spend $30B to save us from illegals with speeding tickets... Dangerous hombres indeed.
