Do you think people are going to go to work for free week after week, spending their money on gas to do so, when they have other bills to survive?

By your take you then grasp that tRump's wall is a metaphor.

One that requires no funding and no building.

Please inform the orange fool.

You'll be the shutdown hero who re-opened the govt.

Its a fight of globalism vs nationalism

You see if theres a wall people have to ask for asylum in mexico. If there is no wall but are other forms of border protection (drones etc) the illegals get to request asylum on usa land. This starts the clock on them being released in the usa. It is all about globalist goals of many in both parties to have a global government.
You are imagining some sort of rational basis for this fiasco -- there is none.

Wrong. You literally could not be more wrong. To request asylum one proceeds to a checkpoint. A wall does nothing to change that. Absolutely nothing. Surely you understand this?

and your globalist nonsense is nothing more than nonsense. You want that to go away? guess what the answer is to swing to the left. The US has into a hyper-capitalist hellscape.
We lost our way, but i don't blame you guys i blame the Murdochs/Putins of the world and their evil conspiracy to debase democracies.

After painting himself into a corner, the shutdown continues to get worse and worse for him. By declaring the state of emergency, Trump can still appear to "win" and reopen the government.

If Trump declares the SOE and wants to build the wall, it will be tied up in the court system for YEARS. So Trump can save face by saying that he tried to force the wall through SOE declaration but the "stupid courts" are holding it up. Meanwhile, since he'll look tough and like he didn't back down by trying to force the state of emergency for the wall, he can reopen the gov't and still say "I tried" for the wall.

Trump doesn't get his wall because it has to be fought in court for years, but he'll be able to claim he tired, the government is reopen, everybody wins.
I don’t think it would take years to go thru legal challenge. Something like this could be ramrodded thru the dockets quickly.

After all it is a ‘National Emergency’

Irregardless of Trump's verbally incontinent ill thought out proud banter about owning the shut down, the bottom line is that the buck stops with Trump. His job is to run the country, not shut down the government because of a vanity project that the vast majority of we the people view as a waste of tax payer dollars. It's desperation at it's finest. Must not upset the shrinking base no matter the cost? Despicable.

If the food stamp halt happens, that’s going to have a helluva ripple effect as well. Some 40
Milllion people use those benefits at the grocery store. Ever been to a Winco on the first? This is going to hit their bottom line like crazy. If it keeps up, they start laying off cashiers who can no longer go out to Denny’s etc...
Doesn;t that just prove gov't is too big??

You do realize we are not a democracy

Really? Ok answer this if you can..

If one asks for asylum while in mexico where do they wait for their court case?

If they ask for asylum in a state of our union where do they wait for their court case?

And they are actually walking up to border agents and asking for asylum. If they were going to port of entries like you think they are the wall would not be needed. We have areas of our border that can be crossed by 9 month pregnant women in labor.. just to give birth here.
